Bio


Louie Nathaniel Pinpin graduated from the University of California, Davis, with a major in cell biology and minor in Asian American studies. He also attended Mission College in Santa Clara, CA where he majored in biological sciences. He is broadly interested in molecular and cellular biology and plans to pursue a PhD in the future. He joined the REACH Postbaccalaureate Program in 2024. Previously, he worked in a genetics/genomics lab validating differentially expressed genes found within structural variants. In addition to science, he is equally passionate in contributing to diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in STEM academia and by making STEM academia be more supportive and encouraging, especially to scientists of color with immigrant and/or first-generation backgrounds.
