Bio

Maisha Khanum is a Ph.D. student in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University, where she is a Stanford Robotics Center Scholar and an NSF Graduate Research Fellow. Her research focuses on perception-based planning and adaptive control strategies that let robots respond to their environment as they move through it. This work spans exoskeletons navigating challenging real-world terrain and magnetically actuated milli-robots steering through vasculature for minimally invasive stroke treatment. Before Stanford, Maisha worked on icy-surface locomotion in the Extreme Environment Robotics Group at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory and on fully actuated robotic hands in the AMBER Lab at Caltech.
