Ruth Adewuya, MD, CHCP, MEHP Fellow is a physician, leader, and educator with ten years of experience in leveraging her pharmacy and medical training to develop in-person, online, and blended learning strategies, leading teams responsible for continuing education accreditation, instructional design, program implementation, and evaluation.

Dr. Adewuya is the Managing Director of the Stanford Center for Continuing Medical Education, where she leads the strategic planning and delivery of professional development courses, workshops, and initiatives. The office is responsible for continuing education activities for physicians and other health care providers at Stanford Medicine which is composed of the Stanford School of Medicine, Stanford Health Care, and the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford. She works with Stanford faculty, students, staff, and external collaborators to build educational programs that reach learners worldwide. She is also the Executive Director for the Stanford Physician Leadership Certificate program that focuses on providing participants with an evidence-based framework for personal growth, key management and leadership skills, and deep connection with peers.

Dr. Adewuya has designed and is the host of Stanford Medcast - Stanford's inaugural accredited medical education podcast. The podcast launched in September 2019 and has had over 45,000 downloads with listeners from over 129 countries. Before joining Stanford, she served as the Director of Learning and Development for the American College of Chest Physicians. CHEST served 19,000 members through the development of innovative educational programs. Additional experiences include serving as an Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutics (Affiliate) at Roosevelt University College of Pharmacy.

Her interests include wellness, leadership, and interprofessional education. She is currently working towards a Master of Education in the Health Professions degree from Johns Hopkins University.
