Bio


Sandra specializes in program design, capacity building, and strategic support for extramural research proposals. She provides proposal development support and consultation to faculty teams, with a focus on early career, resubmission, and large, collaborative, multidisciplinary research proposals in STEM fields (including quantitative social sciences). As Assistant Director of Research Development for Program Design at Stanford, she leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of programming to expand and strengthen research development support across the University. She leads RDO’s early career and research instrumentation support programs and leads or supports a variety of other initiatives, including workshops, trainings, and resources related to grantsmanship and funding opportunities.

Sandra brings more than 15 years of experience in higher education, education, and program development, and an academic background in education, sociology, and applied linguistics. She holds a Master’s degree in English with a concentration in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and previously taught in the English department and for the College of Extended Learning at San Francisco State University.
