Yida Sun

Bio

Yida Sun’s research explores how climate extremes and trade disruptions propagate through interconnected infrastructure and global supply chains, shaping economic resilience and the transition to sustainable energy. His work integrates climate science, engineering, and economic modeling to understand systemic risks and identify pathways toward more resilient and sustainable systems.

As a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford University, he will focus on the security and resilience of critical material supply chains in the context of the global energy transition, as well as the cascading impacts of climate risks on energy and economic systems.

He completed his doctoral research at Tsinghua University and conducted visiting research at the University of Cambridge. His work has been published in Nature, Nature Climate Change, and Nature Health.
