Current Research and Scholarly InterestsMy research is on race and inequality. I am especially interested in examining race and inequality in the criminal justice context. My most recent research focuses on how the association of African Americans with crime might matter at different points in the criminal justice system and how this association can affect us in surprising ways.

BioI am a postdoctoral fellow at the Golub Capital Social Impact Lab and the Stanford Digital Economy Lab, under the supervision of Susan Athey and Erik Brynjolfsson.
I study how to improve political accountability in developing contexts. I work on a variety of topics, such as the role of (mis)information, criminal-political violence, and policy coordination across levels of government. My recent work is centered on reducing misinformation sharing and enhancing online deliberation through the use of Generative AI.
Before joining Stanford, I obtained a Ph.D. in Political Economy and Government (PEG) from the Harvard Kennedy School and the Economics and Government departments at Harvard University. I also obtained a B.A. in Economics and a B.A. in Political Science from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) in Mexico City. I was raised in Durango, Mexico.
