Through a series of professional and personal experiences, he identified a passion at the crossroads of health literacy, socioeconomic status, cultural vulnerability, and medical practice in the US, with a specific passion in working with persons living with serious illness(es). Across his career, he has come across many obstacles and roadblocks that serve as barriers to the delivery of specialty level HPC, which has expanded his passion to focus on enhancing infrastructure, business models, education, and research in the HPC field with the intent to positive impact the future landscape of HPC in the US.

Joshua Barnett

BioJoshua is a leader in Information Technology, Security, and Artificial Intelligence, with more than 25 years of experience across the automotive, renewable energy, and academia sectors. Aside from his work in University IT, Joshua also serves as an instructor for the AI Playground 101: Practice and Exploration (ITS-1990) course and is involved with AI research around campus. Additionally, he is a recurring advisor for MIS Practicum Honors courses at San Jose State University, where he has helped guide exceptional seniors as they bridge the gap between academia and real world project experience. Joshua also serves as an Industry Domain Expert for Tech Launch at the University of Arizona, assisting in assessing the commercial potential of technological innovations that stem from university research.
