In her role as Equity and Inclusion Architect, Davina helps lead the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Initiative at Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB). She works to implement a “DEI lens” in strategic planning and business operations across departments and launched the DEI Roundtable which promotes belonging among staff. As Senior Case Fellow, Davina drove the effort to make GSB business case studies more inclusive, resulting in over 50 new cases about leaders from diverse backgrounds in the first 2 years.
For over a decade, Davina served as a publicly elected board trustee for the Burlingame School District where she was a passionate advocate for building systems to promote access to opportunities and advance equity. She has over 20 years experience in innovation, product design, and strategy development at Kaiser Permanente, the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and non-profit organizations. Davina has particular expertise in how to identify and bring to life new opportunities. She is a board member for Spark, an advisor to LEAD Incubator & Startup Accelerator, and holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Melina Gehring
COVID-19 Program Manager, HR Solutions
Current Role at StanfordAs a member of the Client Services team at University Human Resources, Melina supports Stanford's Flexible Work effort as the university identifies best practices to support on-site, hybrid, and remote work. She has served as the project manager of the Work Arrangement functionality in Axess, the administration of the 3% Special Increase program, and the COVID testing monitoring program. Shortly after joining UHR, she managed the retirement of ORMS. In addition, Melina contributes to the university's COVID Compliance effort and supports UHR's representation in the DOC.
At the Stanford University Office of Emergency Management (OEM), Melina and her colleagues worked toward the vision of a disaster resilient university. Since March 2020, Melina has supported the Stanford Emergency Operations Center's (EOC) strategic response to COVID-19 and has carried this commitment into her position at UHR.
Prior to this role with Environmental Health & Safety, Melina worked at Stanford's Office of International Affairs (OIA), where she helped develop strategy and communications infrastructure to support Stanford faculty, staff, and students with their global research and education initiatives. At OIA, Melina also managed the start-up phase of Stanford's new research center in Korea (SCIGC).
Melina is a Project Management Professional (PMP), a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) and helped revive and grow the Community of Practice "Agile Stanford," which promotes Agile project management across campus.
Before coming to Stanford, Melina worked as an educational consultant in London (UK), supported international graduate students at Dartmouth College, and served as a desk officer at Germany's Federal Foreign Office in Berlin.
Melina holds a Ph.D. in American Studies (University of Hamburg) and an M.Phil. in International Relations (University of Cambridge). She has published two books as well as several peer-reviewed articles in two different academic disciplines (American Studies and Musicology).
