    Dr. Ikeno is a Researcher, Cardiovascular Medicine, Stanford University. In this role, he is responsible for pre clinical studies including GLP for medical devices and also regenerative medicines for cardiovascular diseases. Currently, he is devoting himself to the international regulatory project between Japan and the United States, also known as "Harmonization by Doing", whose focus is to collaborate with regulatory agencies such as FDA, PMDA/MHLW, academia and industries for improving the regulatory process in the 2 largest medtech markets. Dr. Ikeno also devoted himself to found Japan biodesign program which is a collaborative program with University of Tokyo, Osaka University, Tohoku University, Japan Federation Medical Device Association, Ministry of Education Japan and Stanford biodesign program. Currently, Dr. Ikeno serves as the Program Director (US) for Japan Biodesign. Dr. Ikeno is co-founder and board member of US-Japan MedTech Frontier which is a non-profit cooperate to make a trans-pacific eco-system of medical device between Japan and USA.

    After 9 years clinical practice as an interventional cardiologist and Family Doctor in rural areas of Japan, Dr. Ikeno came to Stanford as a Researcher and completed his Biodesign Certificate Program. Being part of the ecosystem in Silicon Valley, Dr. Ikeno participated in more than 200 medtech projects and 50 GLP studies as well as in the analysis of clinical trials for cardiovascular medicine (BARI2D, FAME, ReOPEN etc). His other academic consortium projects include Peripheral Academic Research Consortium, Global Consensus Working Group of Optical Coherence Tomography, and Japan-US consensus document for the treatment of critical limb ischemia.

    Over the last decade, Dr. Ikeno has served as an advisor for medical device industries and currently serves as a chief medical officer of an incubation fund specific for medtech (Medventure Partners, Inc, Tokyo) as a spin-off from Innovation Network Corporation of Japan (INCJ) that is the largest government and private partnership fund in Japan. He is also serving as a chair of cardiovascular working group of APAN (Asian Pacific Advanced Network) that contributes the remote education, research activities, and tele-health using a specialized internet network. Dr.Ikeno is also serving as consulting faculty/lecturer roles in several universities in Japan including University of Tokyo, Osaka University, Tsukuba University etc. Dr. Ikeno has authored over 70 peer reviewed publications and textbooks and has been invited to lecture at international medical conferences. Dr. Ikeno is a council member of U.S.- Japan Council which is a non-profit organization by Japanese American. He is serving as a mentor for START-X MED which is an accelerating program for Stanford related entrepreneurs in medical fields.

    BioDr. Haruka Itakura is an Assistant Professor of Medicine (Oncology) in the Stanford University School of Medicine, a data scientist, and a practicing breast medical oncologist at the Stanford Women’s Cancer Center. She is board-certified in Oncology, Clinical Informatics, Hematology, and Internal Medicine. Her research mission is to drive medical advances at the intersection of cancer and data science, applying state-of-the-art machine learning/artificial intelligence (AI) techniques to extract clinically actionable knowledge from heterogeneous multi-scale cancer data to improve patient outcomes. Her ongoing research to develop robust methodologies and apply cutting-edge techniques to analyze complex cancer big data was catapulted by an NIH K01 Career Development Award in Biomedical Big Data Science after obtaining a PhD in Biomedical Informatics at Stanford University. Her cancer research focuses on extracting radiomic (pixel-level quantitative imaging) features of tumors from medical imaging studies and applying machine learning frameworks, including radiogenomic approaches, for the integrative analysis of heterogeneous, multiomic (e.g., radiomic, genomic, transcriptomic) data to accelerate discoveries in cancer diagnostics and therapeutics. Her current projects include data science/AI-powered prediction modeling of survival, treatment response, cancer recurrence, and metastasis in different cancer subtypes; detection of occult invasive breast cancer; and identification of novel therapeutic targets. Her goal is to translate her research findings back to the clinical setting for the benefit of patients with difficult-to-treat cancers.

    Current Research and Scholarly InterestsWe study innate immunity and immune regulation of Plasmodium Falciparum malaria in children and pregnant women. Our work focuses on understanding how malaria shapes the immune state in individuals following repeated exposure. We are also testing novel interventions to enhance protective immunity against malaria in children via large, randomized controlled trials. Our work in malaria has been based in Eastern Uganda, where malaria transmission is among the highest in the world.

    BioDr. Jahanbani received her PharmD from Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) and PhD in pharmacology from Iran University of Medical Sciences (IUMS) and her postdoctoral degree from Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) and University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC). She joined Stanford Center for Genomics and Personalized Medicine in June 2012. Her work is focused on better understanding the etiology of chronic complex conditions and multi-morbidity using multi-omics and precision health approaches. She has been leading ME/CFS related disorders multi-omics study combining the power of both family and population approaches and also cofounded “Research To The People at Stanford Program”.

    BioDr. Sneha S. Jain is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at Stanford University, where she specializes in general cardiovascular medicine and preventive cardiology. She co-founded and is the director of GUIDE-AI, which focuses on the development, responsible deployment, and pragmatic evaluation of AI tools to augment healthcare delivery and improve patient outcomes across the healthcare enterprise.

    Dr. Jain completed her undergraduate studies in Economics at Duke University, graduating with distinction, before earning her MD from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and her MBA from Harvard Business School. She completed internal medicine residency training at Columbia/NewYork-Presbyterian, and fellowship training in cardiovascular medicine at Stanford University.

    Dr. Jain serves as an Expert AI Consultant for the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, a member of the AHA Expert Panel for the AI Validation Lab, and Co-Director of the Cross-Sectional Artificial Intelligence Working Group at the American College of Cardiology, where she also serves on the Healthcare Innovation Council.

    BioDr. Jalil is a board-certified, fellowship-trained transplant hepatologist (liver doctor) and gastroenterologist at the Stanford Health Care Digestive Health Center in San Jose, California. He is also a clinical associate professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, at Stanford University School of Medicine.

    Dr. Jalil has extensive experience helping patients with a range of liver- and digestion-related conditions. He specializes in liver transplantation, and his other clinical interests include all forms of hepatitis, cirrhosis of the liver, fatty liver disease, polycystic liver disease, and primary sclerosing cholangitis (swelling and scarring of the bile ducts). He has also volunteered in initiatives to offer free colonoscopy and hepatitis B screenings to underserved ethnic populations.

    His research interests include improving mental health by enhancing treatment access for patients with alcohol use disorder causing alcoholic liver disease. He has also studied swallowing problems, liver disease in pregnancy, living liver donation, and the use of artificial intelligence in treating nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and viral hepatitis. In addition, Dr. Jalil wrote a chapter on bile secretion and cholestasis (diminished bile flow) for the fifth edition of Yamada’s Textbook of Gastroenterology.

    Dr. Jalil has published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, including World Journal of Hepatology, Liver Transplantation, and the Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology. Additionally, he has served as a reviewer for Pancreatology and as an abstract reviewer for the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) and the Ohio Chapter of the American College of Physicians. He has presented his research at meetings and conferences worldwide on a range of topics, including the timing of pregnancy after liver transplantation.

    Dr. Jalil is an AGA fellow and a member of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, American College of Gastroenterology, and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

    BioDr. M. Nicole Jamali focus has been in leadership, scientific innovation and streamlining business ventures. Over the past 20 years since graduation from Stanford Internal Medicine Residency, she has held National Positions in AMA as Western Caucus Chair and Appointee to Joint Commission Board. She was reelected to Board of Joint Commission three terms for total of 9 years. She helped rewrite multiple TJC Standards including creation of the Stroke Center of excellence standards and annual "new ideas section of the board". At AMA she authored and passed multiple House rules on variety of subjects affecting thousands of providers and healthcare centers. Her experiences in private practice, group practice, Hospitalist, Insurance Directorship lead to multiple innovative projects including first e-prescription covering both meds and DME in 1999 titled eRemedy,. She then created the first wrong site surgery device which was patented. This project lead to creation of first Transplant App called TPOD which was then simplified to TAPP. It was beta tested in USC and perfected in UCSF Transplant.
    Her work with various Insurance companies resulted in streamlined programs and teaching modules improving patient access to health care and millions of dollars in hospital savings of unnecessary admissions.
    Her work in creation and streamlining and connecting with local Primary Care providers resulted in rapid expansion of the Hospitalist program of local Hospital by 300%
    She is currently interested in Haptic and AI technologies in Medicine and providing 24/7 care to our veterans in remote locations or even the battlefield.
    She is currently Clinical Associated Professor and the lead Hospitalist in the new Stanford Cardiovascular Hospitalist Program and enjoys the daily interaction with patients . She truly believes that her mission in life is to be at the bedside of ill patients. She treats them as one of her own family. It is not atypical for her to hand out her personal phone number to make sure they feel safe even when discharged.

    BioDr. Can "Angela" Jiang is a board certified family physician who enjoys caring for the whole family, from newborn care to geriatrics. She has special interests in women's health, adolescent health, pediatrics, and medical student education. She specializes in primary care procedures including gynecologic procedures.

    Prior to medical school, Dr. Jiang was a high school biology teacher in Chicago with Teach for America and loves combining her passions for teaching and medicine on a daily basis at Stanford Family Medicine. Dr. Jiang also teaches residents at the Stanford Health Care-O'Connor Hospital residency program and is the director of the O’Connor-Stanford Leaders in Education Residency Program (OSLER). Dr. Jiang is also passionate about community outreach and works with the Stanford Youth Diabetes Coaches Program.

    Outside of clinic, she enjoys hiking, reading, group fitness classes, traveling, and running after her two young kids.

    BioDr. Shirley Jiang is a fellowship-trained, board-certified allergist and immunologist with the Stanford Health Care Allergy, Asthma, and Immunodeficiency Clinic in Atherton. She is also a clinical assistant professor of allergy and immunology in the Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Allergy & Critical Care Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine.

    Dr. Jiang diagnoses and treats a wide range of conditions, including allergies, asthma, eczema, hives, and immunodeficiencies. She specializes in food allergies, medication allergies such as those to penicillin and other antibiotics, and chemotherapy allergies. For each of her patients, she offers a comprehensive care plan tailored to the individual.

    Dr. Jiang’s research interests include evaluating quality-of-life issues related to food allergies, with an emphasis on underserved populations. She is also working with her colleagues to build out and validate a novel chemotherapy desensitization program for patients with cancer who have allergic reactions to chemotherapy.

    Dr. Jiang has published her research in peer-reviewed journals such as Allergy, Frontiers in Immunology, The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology: In Practice, and Clinical Reviews in Allergy and Immunology. She has also presented to her peers at international, national, and regional meetings, including the annual meetings of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI), the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (ACAAI), and the Allergy, Asthma & Immunology Foundation of Northern California (AAIFNC).

    Dr. Jiang is a member of the AAAAI and the ACAAI. She serves as a member of the ACAAI Drug Allergy Committee, working on building out resources for penicillin allergy delabeling for allergists and primary care doctors. She also serves as a member of the AAAAI Adverse Reactions to Drugs, Biologicals, and Vaccines Committee and Adverse Reactions to Foods Committee.

    BioDr. Yan Jiang is a gastroenterologist specializing in esophageal and motility disorders including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), eosinophilic esophagitis, achalasia, etc. He obtained his medical degree at New York University before completing internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship at Stanford. While at Stanford, Dr. Jiang also received a master's degree in clinical research and epidemiology. His main research interests are in esophageal disorders as well as dietary interventions and technological applications to GI practice.

Her clinical interests include chronic abdominal pain, acute and chronic pancreatitis, pancreatic cysts, exocrine pancreatic insufficiency, and pancreatic cancer screening. She is committed to delivering evidence-based, personalized care focused on optimizing outcomes and improving quality of life.
    Dr. Jiang has a particular interest in chronic pancreatitis and completed dedicated fellowship training in medical pancreatology under the mentorship of Dr. Stephen Pandol, a leading expert in the field. Her work emphasizes multidisciplinary care, and she is actively involved in clinical trials investigating innovative approaches such as novel nutritional therapies and digital health interventions. Her research has been published in Gastroenterology, Gut, Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Frontiers in Physiology, Pancreas, and Cancers. She served as an abstract reviewer and moderator for the Pancreatitis session at Digestive Disease Week, one of the leading national conferences in the field of gastroenterology. She currently serves as an associate editor for the journal Frontiers in Physiology, and topic editor for research collections: “Pain Mechanisms: The Drivers of Quality of Life in Patients with Gastrointestinal Disorders” and "Pancreatic Pain Across the Neural Axis: Organ-Specific Drivers and Shared Mechanisms of Visceral Pain".

    BioDr. Jiao is a fellowship-trained, board-certified neurologist with the Movement Disorders Center at Stanford Health Care. She is also a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Neurology and Neurological Sciences.

    Dr. Jiao has extensive experience providing comprehensive care for patients with different types of movement disorders, including Parkinson’s disease. She is fellowship-trained in both movement disorders and hospice and palliative medicine. Dr. Jiao is developing an interdisciplinary neuropalliative clinic that emphasizes planning for the future and maximizes quality of life for people living with chronic neurological illness.

    Dr. Jiao’s research efforts include a pilot study assessing the impact of deep brain stimulation (DBS) as a treatment for Parkinson’s-related motor symptoms upon mood and pain. Specifically, this work focuses on identifying correlations between DBS targets and reductions in medications that address depression, anxiety, and impulsivity symptoms that result from Parkinson’s treatments. Dr. Jiao has also completed a pilot study focused upon narrative medicine interventions for people living with Parkinson’s disease.

    Dr. Jiao has published her work in multiple peer-reviewed journals, including Pain Medicine and the Journal of Neurosurgery. Dr. Jiao is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society , and the International Neuropalliative Care Society.

    At Stanford, Dr. Jimenez-Morales owns and leads organization-wide data initiatives, most notably for the Molecular Transducers of Physical Activity Consortium (MoTrPAC) and COVID-omics projects. He coordinates a multidisciplinary team of analysts and researchers, overseeing the data engineering and analysis for complex multi-omics, multi-tissue in-vivo, and clinical studies.

    A key aspect of his role involves developing innovative, scalable computational infrastructure from the ground up. This includes engineering comprehensive data injection and quality control systems, and implementing FAIR data science principles. He also serves as a mentor to staff, postdocs, and graduate students, cultivating a collaborative and highly productive research environment.
