Staff, Medicine - Med/Cardiovascular MedicineBioDr. Colette DeJong is general cardiologist and health services researcher at Stanford University and the VA Palo Alto. A graduate of Brown University and the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine, Dr. DeJong completed an internal medicine residency, chief residency, and fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at UCSF, as well as a two-year editorial fellowship at JAMA Internal Medicine and a research fellowship at the UCSF Center for Healthcare Value. Dr. DeJong’s research focuses on improving access to effective cardiovascular therapies. She is interested in developing and evaluating novel strategies to improve care delivery, such as cardiovascular combination pills (“polypills”). Dr. DeJong served as the principal investigator of a pilot clinical trial of heart failure polypills at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital.

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsThe Stanford-LPCH Vaccine Program provides an infrastructure for conducting clinical studies of vaccines in children and adults. We conduct immunology studies of seasonal influenza vaccines in twins, in a longitudinal cohort of young and elderly adults and studies of various vaccine candidates for NIH and industry. Additionally, we were a CDC Clinical Immunization Safety Assessment site for 10 years working on safety issues concerning licensed vaccines.

Current Role at StanfordI am the Product Manager for Stanford Profiles and Project Manager of the Stanford Profiles University-Wide Project. I work directly with the Stanford Profiles development team in Stanford Medicine | Technology & Digital Solutions Application Development. On this project, I also work with a university-wide project team, the Stanford Profiles (formerly CAP) Working Group, made up of members from many of the Stanford schools and organizations. In June of 2014, we started the CAP Drupal Module Working Group. The purpose of this group is to review and improve the integration process with CAP by expanding and enhancing the CAP Drupal Module (CAPx) with an open-source contribution approach (an initiative started and led by SWS in collaboration with the CAP Drupal Module user community).
