Jia-Horung Hung

Visiting Scholar, Ophthalmology Research/Clinical TrialsBioDr. Jia-Horung Hung is an ophthalmologist and a retina and glaucoma specialist. He is a board-certified ophthalmologist and an active member of several professional societies, including The Ophthalmological Society of Taiwan, American Academy of Ophthalmology, Taiwan Retinal Society, and Taiwan Ocular Inflammation Society (TOIS), where he served as the Secretary General from 2020 to 2023. Dr. Hung’s research is dedicated to developing innovative treatments for ocular diseases, with a focus on ocular inflammation and infection, innovative surgical techniques, inhereditary ocular diseases, and ophthalmic big-data analysis. He has received numerous teaching awards since becoming a clinical assistant professor at National Cheng Kung University in 2021. His award includes Young investigator research award in clinical medicine of School of Medicine, National Cheng Kung University; Best Presentations in different academic meetings; Best Teaching Faculty in the University; Gold Medal and Best Hardware of the 2020 International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) competition. His laboratory study mainly focuses on age-related macular degeneration, inhereditary ocular diseases, and antimicrobial photodynamic therapy for eye infections. Dr. Jia-Horung Hung is a visiting scholar at Professor Quan Dong Nguyen’s lab in Stanford University since November 2023, where he is receiving training on ocular inflammatory diseases and working as an affiliate of Ophthalmology Research/Clinical Trials.

Sharon Wei Hung
Clinical Assistant Professor, Medicine - Primary Care and Population Health
BioDr Sharon Hung is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician who practices at the Stanford Internal Medicine Clinic in Santa Clara.
She received her MD degree at Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine and completed her internal medicine residency training at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Prior to working at Stanford, she was on faculty at the University of Arizona College of Medicine.
Currently, her clinical interests include both preventative medicine as well as managing chronic medical conditions such as diabetes, osteoporosis and steatotic liver disease.
She is the Director of Women’s Health for the Primary Care and Population Health department. Under this role, she is the course director of Stanford CME's Women's Health conference, offers group patient visits for counseling on osteoporosis and creates educational resources for primary care providers on various women’s health topics.
She is conversational in Spanish and Mandarin. -

BioJennifer Hunter, PA-C is the Lead Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for the Emergency Department & Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) with experience in Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) and over 10 years of experience in Emergency Medicine. She is also a Clinical Assistant Professor and Educator-4-Care (E4C) at the Stanford School of Medicine & Masters of Science in PA Studies Program.

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsMy research delves into three broad areas of the exocrine pancreas: (1) The crucial signaling pathways that initiate and transduce pancreatitis; (2) the factors that turn on pancreatic regeneration and recovery after pancreatic injury; and (3) the mechanisms underlying drug-induced pancreatitis.
