Behzad Naderalvojoud
Postdoctoral Scholar, Biomedical Informatics
BioBehzad Naderalvojoud is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Stanford Center for Biomedical Informatics Research. He received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science at Hacettepe University, Turkey, in 2020. He is immersed in the fields of machine learning, deep learning, natural language understanding, and Big data analytics and works on health knowledge discovery platforms that transfer Big Health data from volume-based to value-based by generating relational knowledge leading to innovative treatments, predictive therapeutic outcomes, and early diagnosis. He was the leader of many industrial AI projects in the fields of healthcare intelligence and information management in the Eureka cluster programs.
Dr. Naderalvojoud has published several papers in the field of natural language understanding by working on word sense disambiguation, sentiment analysis, neural word embeddings, and deep learning models through national and international projects.
He is currently working on the funded NLM grant project "Advancing Knowledge Discovery for Postoperative Pain Management" under the supervision of Dr. Tina Hernandez-Boussard. He develops descriptive, predictive, and analytical tools using OMOP CDM for postoperative pain research to facilitate timely generation of evidence across multiple populations and settings. -
Dhriti Nagar
Postdoctoral Scholar, Neonatal and Developmental Medicine
BioPremature birth is a leading cause of developmental and neuropsychiatric disorders in children. One of the factors causing these defects is lowered levels of available oxygen (hypoxia) in the newborn due to immature lungs. My research focuses on understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying hypoxia-induced developmental disorders of the nervous system due to preterm birth.

Sanaz Nazari Farsani
Postdoctoral Scholar, Molecular Imaging Program at Stanford
BioDr. Nazari Farsani works on developing and implementing machine learning techniques for automated tissue segmentation from brain PET/MR images. She is also developing machine learning algorithms for PET data correction and de-noising.

Trang-Anh Nghiem
Postdoctoral Scholar, Psychiatry
Current Research and Scholarly InterestsI am interested in how brain dynamics and cognitive functions in health and disease emerge from interactions within biological neural networks. To this purpose, I combine theoretical and computational models of brain dynamics and function inspired by statistical physics and information theory with analysis of neural recordings at different scales using machine learning methods.

Ke Ning
Postdoctoral Scholar, Ophthalmology
BioDr. Ning currently joins Dr. Yang Sun’s lab as a postdoctoral fellow at Dept. of Ophthalmology, Stanford University. Her current research interests include cilia-mediated signaling in RPE-related diseases and glaucoma. Dr. Ning received her MD at Xiamen University in China and completed her internship at Zhongshan Hospital Affiliated with Xiamen University. Her long-term research interest is to understand primary cilia roles in ocular development and how alterations in cilia-related gene expression contribute to eye diseases. Her further goal is to be a physician-scientist and to translate scientific discoveries to patient therapies. Some of her hobbies are cycling, reading, and skiing.

Rofida Nofal
Postdoctoral Scholar, Stem Cell Transplantation
BioDr. Rofida Nofal is a physician scientist with special interest in benign hematology, immune-hematology and stem cell transplant. She is a postdoc scholar at the Czechowicz lab in the Stanford University’s Department of Pediatrics, Hematology, Oncology, Stem Cell Transplantation and Regenerative Medicine Division.
Dr. Nofal’s primary clinical interests are immune-hematological disorders, primary immune-deficiency/immune dysregulations disorders as well as non-malignant transplant and non-genotoxic conditioning. Her current research interests are in bone marrow failure syndromes focusing on Fanconi Anemia (FA); understanding the disease biology, the immune profile of patients with FA as well as determinants of disease severity, progression, and response to therapy.
Her current main research project at the Czechowicz lab addresses clonal hematopoiesis in patients with Fanconi Anemia, trying to understand leukemogenesis and identify good biomarkers for early detection of clonal evolution to inform treatment decisions in an effort to improve outcome of stem cell therapy in Fanconi Anemia. Other research projects she is involved in, include gene therapy and alternative donor therapy for Fanconi Anemia; addressing how therapy affects disease phenotype, leukemogenesis and stem cell biology and function.
Dr. Nofal completed a pediatric residency in the Children’s Hospital Zagazig university in Egypt, after which she worked as an assistant lecturer in the department of Pediatrics. During that time, she pursued specialty training in the Primary Immune Deficiency (PID) in Cairo University Children’s Hospital, where she developed her interests in immune-hematology, immune-deficiency and dysregulations. Dr. Nofal then moved to the US and completed a pediatric residency in St. John Hospital in MI where she continued to pursue her specialty interests during her rotations in the Comprehensive Immune-Hematology program in Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor, the Diagnostic Immunology Lab in Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, and the BMT center in Children’s Hospital LA. Dr. Nofal then joined the pediatric hematology oncology program at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital with focus on immune-hematology, BMF syndromes, non-malignant and in-utero transplant. -
