BioBetsy Stade, PhD, is a research scientist and associate director of the Stanford ALACRITY CREATE Center for Advancing Therapy with AI. As a computational clinical psychologist, Betsy focuses her research on how AI and large language models can be used for evidence-based psychological practice. Betsy did her graduate work at the University of Pennsylvania and her clinical residency at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System, and is a licensed psychologist in California. Her research has been supported by the National Science Foundation.

BioMelissa Steele-Ogus grew up in Berkeley, California. She received a BS in Environmental Sciences and BA in Molecular Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2012. She earned a PhD in Biology from the University of Washington in 2021, studying the actin cytoskeleton of Giardia lamblia. In her free time, she enjoys dancing, baking, and birdwatching. She may be secretly some sort of weird bug, but probably isn't.

Rafael Stern

BioRafael Stern was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He is 35 years old, and married to Gal. Rafael has a BSc in Geography from the Geosciences Department of Universidade Federal Fluminense, in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He has a MSc from the Climate and Environment Department of the National Institute of Amazon Research in Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil, with the supervision of prof. Paulo Artaxo, and he measured the physical and chemical properties of atmospheric particles during forest fires season in the Amazon rainforest. He has a PhD from the Earth and Planetary Sciences Department of the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot, Israel, with the supervision of prof. Dan Yakir, and he used a mobile eddy covariance station to compare the biogeophysical and biogeochemical effects of different ecosystems and of PV fields on drylands.
