Monika Salesh

BioI am a researcher in the High Energy Density Science (HEDS) Division at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, where I work on high-pressure science using diamond anvil cells (DACs). My research focuses on studying the behavior and properties of materials under extreme pressures and temperatures, with an emphasis on understanding structural and physical transformations under these conditions.
I completed my PhD in Materials Science from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay), India, in June 2026. My doctoral research involved advanced materials characterization and the investigation of structure–property relationships using a range of nanoscale and bulk characterization techniques.
At SLAC, I am leveraging my background in materials science and advanced characterization to explore matter under extreme conditions and contribute to a deeper understanding of the physics underlying fusion-related processes.
