BioI am the Sample Preparation Lab Manager at Stanford University’s Doerr School of Sustainability, where my role combines laboratory management, research support, and ongoing scientific research. My work includes developing and maintaining laboratory capabilities for the preparation and processing of rocks, minerals, soils, sediments, and other Earth materials, as well as supporting researchers and students with experimental workflows and laboratory methods.
I earned my Ph.D. in Geophysics from Stanford University in 2017 and my M.S. in Geophysics and Seismology from Stanford in 2015. My research has focused on the time-dependent mechanical behavior of geomaterials, particularly the creep and viscoplastic deformation of carbonate rocks and clay-rich shales under different reservoir conditions and across multiple scales. As a postdoctoral researcher in Stanford’s Department of Geophysics from 2018 to 2020, I extended this work to investigate the thermo-viscoplastic behavior of shale rocks.
I also hold an M.S. in Mining Engineering from the University of Tehran, where I investigated the creep behavior of soft rocks, including salts, mudrocks, and tuffs, using impression creep testing. I conducted this experimental research at the University of Tehran, Tokai University in Japan, and Toyota National College of Technology. In addition, I hold a master’s degree in Education, complementing my scientific background with formal training in teaching and education.
