Amin Karbasi
Adjunct Professor, Management Science and Engineering
BioAn academic entrepreneur, Amin Karbasi is a Senior Director at Cisco Foundation AI, an adjunct professor at Stanford, and serves on the scientific board of the Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing. Previously, he served as Chief Scientist at Robust Intelligence (acquired by Cisco in 2024). Before that, he was a professor at Yale University and a research staff scientist at Google. His Ph.D. thesis received the Patrick Denantes Memorial Prize from the School of Computer and Communication Sciences at EPFL, Switzerland.

Krzysztof Karbownik
Visiting Fellow, HOOVER RESEARCH
BioKrzysztof (Chris) Karbownik is an applied economist who is an associate professor at Emory University. His research is concentrated in three areas: infant and childhood health, family economics, and economics of education. His work was published in leading economics journals such as American Economic Review, American Economic Journal: Applied Economics, American Economic Journal: Economic Policy, Journal of Labor Economics, Journal of Human Resources or Economic Journal. It was also featured in press outlets such as New York Times, Wall Street Journal or Washington Post. Karbownik holds a PhD in economics from Uppsala University (2013), MAs in both economics and quantitative methods from Warsaw School of Economics (2008), and a BA in quantitative methods from Warsaw School of Economics (2008). He is affiliated with CESifo (Germany), Centre for Economic Analysis (Poland), IZA (Germany), and NBER (USA). Outside of academia, he is an avid skier, mountain biker, and mountaineer.

Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor, Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences
BioI attended Stanford University as an undergraduate, then returned to Stanford for my Psychiatry residency and Chief Residency. I then joined the Faculty in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. I am an adjunct Clinical Associate Professor. I teach and supervise the residents in the program.
I am also on the Faculty of the Stanford Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship Program, where I teach and supervise post-graduate Fellows.
I have served an Examiner for the Medical Board of California and do Forensic Psychiatry/Expert Witness work for attorneys as part of my private practice for the past 15 years.
I have been in private practice for 35 years, including 15 years of virtual care. I am licensed in 10 states and can provide telepsychiatry services in all of those states.
Among my specialties are trauma; abuse; PTSD; women's health care-related issues, including pregnacy and post-partum issues, PMS, menopause and hormonal issues across the life span.
I also enjoy treating student health-related concerns and helping impaired professionals.
I treat all psychiatric problems for men, women, adolescents and couples. This includes anxiety, panic, bipolar disorder, ADHD, relationship issues and more.
