Patrick David Hsu
Assistant Professor of Pathology
BioPatrick Hsu is Co-Founder of the Arc Institute and Assistant Professor of Pathology at Stanford University. The Hsu lab works at the intersection of biology and machine learning to develop technologies for biological and therapeutic design. Recent contributions include the Evo series of genome foundation models and the first universally programmable DNA recombinases. Patrick received A.M. and Ph.D. degrees from Harvard University and the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, where he was an early pioneer of CRISPR-Cas9 technologies for genome editing. His research has been recognized by awards from the New York Times, The Atlantic, Forbes, MIT Technology Review, Vox, Rainwater Foundation, and Amgen. He serves on the scientific advisory board of Amgen and the board of Stylus Medicine, and cofounded Fast Grants for rapid science funding.

Fellow in Medicine - Med/Pulmonary, Allergy & Critical Care MedicineBioCurrent combined adult and pediatric critical care fellow physician interested in medical education, curriculum design, and health services for adolescent and young adults with childhood-onset chronic conditions and medical complexity.
Most recently, I pursued my internal medicine and pediatrics (MedPeds) residency, chief residency and a medical education fellowship at the University of Illinois in Chicago. During this time, I helped implement our new X+Y resident schedule, created a multidisciplinary medical education track for residents, revamped curricula on resident mistreatment and self-advocacy, and worked with both the pediatric and adult critical care teams to develop resuscitation simulation bootcamps. My academic and institutional service interests revolved around the evolution of expertise and belonging over the course of training, particularly as it pertains to critical care resuscitation, medical educators in training, and underrepresented groups in medicine. -
Lily Hsueh

BioLily Hsueh is Associate Professor of Economics and Public Policy at Arizona State University, where she is also a Senior Global Futures Scientist at the ASU Julie Ann Wrigley Global Futures Laboratory. She is an affiliate scholar at the Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment. She is the author of Corporations at Climate Crossroads: Multilevel Governance, Public Policy, and Global Climate Action (MIT Press, 2025), and numerous scholarly articles on business and public policy, environmental economics, policy, and governance, and political economy. Her work has been featured in the Financial Times, Fortune, PBS NewsHour, among other media outlets. She holds a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, a master’s degree from University College London, and a Ph.D. from the University of Washington.

Natalie Htet

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsMy research focuses on advancing the care of critically ill patients in the Emergency Department, spanning from health system improvements in boarding critically ill patients to genetic phenotyping in septic shock, optimizing intubation for patients with metabolic acidosis, and critical care ultrasound. I am actively involved in medical education for graduate medical education and exploring the integration of AI to enhance ultrasound diagnostics.

Alison Hu, PhD, ABPP
Clinical Associate Professor, Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences
BioDr. Hu is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University School of Medicine and a board-certified counseling psychologist specializing in psycho-oncology and the psychological care of individuals with complex medical conditions.
Dr. Hu joined the Stanford faculty in 2026 as a member of the Division of Medical Psychiatry and Psychosocial Oncology Program. At the Stanford Cancer Center, she provides psychological assessment and treatment to patients navigating cancer diagnosis, treatment, and advanced illness. She also works in consultation-liaison settings, collaborating with multidisciplinary medical teams to address the psychological and behavioral health needs of patients with acute and complex medical conditions.
Dr. Hu earned her PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Minnesota and completed APA-accredited predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the Bedford VA Healthcare System. She is board certified in Counseling Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology and was selected as an American Psychosocial Oncology Society Health Equity Scholar for 2024–2025.
Her clinical interests include psycho-oncology, health psychology, perinatal mental health, culturally responsive care, and health equity.
