BioI recently graduated from St. George's University School of Medicine in May 2026 and am excited to be joining the Pediatric Dermatology research team at Stanford under the mentorship of Dr. Teng. Originally from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, I will be spending the year conducting clinical research while expanding my knowledge of pediatric dermatology and academic medicine. I look forward to learning from the outstanding faculty and collaborators at Stanford, contributing to meaningful research, and preparing to apply for Dermatology residency in the 2027 Match.

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsWe are currently investigating mechanisms involved in synaptic transmission and synaptogenesis using electron microscope tomography in ways that provide in situ 3D structural information at macromolecular resolution.

Audrey McManemin

BioAudrey is pursuing a master's degree in Energy Science & Engineering and is expecting to graduate in Spring 2025. She holds a B.S.E in Mechanical Engineering from Duke University and has previously worked in data engineering. Her research at Stanford focuses on evaluating methane detection and quantification technologies currently used in both commercial and academic applications.

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsMy research is focused on developing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) methods that probe brain tissue microstructure. This requires new MRI contrast mechanisms, strategic encoding and reconstruction schemes, physiological monitoring, brain tissue modeling and validation. Applications of these methods include neuronavigation, neurosurgical planning and the development of improved biomarkers for brain development, degeneration, disease and injury.
