Current Research and Scholarly InterestsBarnett studies how organizations are responding to the challenge of environmental sustainability. He is now establishing research sites around the world, investigating a number of areas where organizational adaptation is key, including: the proliferation of climate tech start ups, issues around environmental justice, the challenge of climate migration, and the urgent need to preserve the world's rainforests.

BioDavid Barnstone studies the dynamics of media use in families with young children. He is particularly interested in how parents form beliefs about media effects and child development. Prior to Stanford, David worked as a full-time science writer and media relations specialist for several scientific organizations, including the American Physical Society, Society for Neuroscience, and Springer Nature.

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsI am interested in galaxy evolution, supermassive black holes and their impact on their host galaxies, and the physics of the interstellar medium. I am an observer, and obtain multi-wavelength observations using different facilities and instruments. I also analyze large astronomical surveys, and use machine learning and data science techniques to mine them for novel information.
