Emily Geminder
Lecturer
BioEmily Geminder is the author of Dead Girls and Other Stories, winner of the Dzanc Books Short Story Prize. Her stories, poems, and essays have appeared in American Short Fiction, Conjunctions, Kenyon Review, New England Review, Tin House, and elsewhere. A former Stegner Fellow, she’s also received fellowships from Yaddo, the Center for Feminist Research, and others. She currently teaches creative writing at Stanford University.

Michael Genesereth

BioGenesereth is most known for his work on Computational Logic and applications of that work in Enterprise Management, Computational Law, and General Game Playing. He is one of the founders of Teknowledge, CommerceNet, Mergent Systems, and Symbium. Genesereth is the director of the Logic Group at Stanford and the founder and research director of CodeX - the Stanford Center for Legal Informatics.

BioI'm a CS Ph.D. student at Stanford, advised by Prof. Jiajun Wu. My research lies at the intersection between Graphics, 3D Vision, and Machine Learning. Previously, I got my bachelor's degree in Computer Science at the School of Computer Science and Chu Kochen Honors College, Zhejiang University. During my undergraduate, I was fortunate to work closely with Prof. Xiaowei Zhou and Prof. Jiajun Wu on several research projects.

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsMy scholarly focus is on puzzling and complex conditions. Our work aims to improve patients' diagnostic journeys, characterize poorly understood diseases, discover biological mechanisms, find treatments, improve care models, and reach communities in need.
With the COVID pandemic, the puzzling and complex illness of Long COVID or post-acute COVID-19 syndrome (PACS) emerged. Together with a multidisciplinary group of physicians and researchers, we launched a program here at Stanford to advance the care and understanding of Long COVID. Our goal is to better understand the natural history, clinical symptomatology, immunological response, risk factors, and subtypes of Long COVID. We are also actively assessing treatment strategies for Long COVID and developing care pathways and tools for clinicians to help their patients with this and other related infection-associated chronic illnesses.
