Zachary Bruce White II

Resident in Radiation Oncology - Radiation TherapyBioI am a physician-leader committed to advancing equitable health care through both clinical care and national policy. My journey into medicine began in childhood, when my mother survived breast cancer. It was a formative experience that ignited my passion for oncology and my resolve to improve care for those most in need.
A native of Birmingham, Alabama, I graduated summa cum laude from Tuskegee University and earned my MD from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. I currently serve as one of the Chief Residents in Radiation Oncology at Stanford University.
In 2024, I was appointed by the President of the United States as a White House Fellow, serving in the Office of the Secretary at the Department of Veterans Affairs. In that role, I contributed to enterprise-wide efforts to improve care delivery and advance innovation within the nation’s largest integrated health care system, serving as Special Advisor to the Deputy Secretary and supporting senior leadership through policy analysis.
I am also the Immediate Past Chair of the Association of Residents in Radiation Oncology (ARRO), where I championed resident advocacy, expanded mentorship and advanced equity across the field of radiation oncology. Beyond my clinical and policy work, I engage deeply with my community, leading health-education initiatives through my church to reduce disparities and promote health in underserved populations.
I remain committed to a career at the intersection of medicine and policy, working to build a health care system where high-quality, compassionate care is accessible to all. -

Zi Yang
Clinical Assistant Professor, Radiation Oncology - Radiation Physics
BioDr. Zi Yang is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Stanford University. Dr. Yang completed the CAMPEP-accredited Therapeutic Medical Physics residency at Stanford University. She earned her M.S. in Medical Physics from Duke University and Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering - Medical Physics track at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Her research focuses on developing and translating novel AI techniques to enhance radiation therapy, which spans a range of medical physics areas, including target segmentation, outcome prediction, and clinical workflow improvement. She is a recipient of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) Research Seed Funding Grant.

Sandra Zaky
Clinical Associate Professor, Radiation Oncology - Radiation Therapy
BioDr. Zaky is a board certified Radiation Oncologist. She received a Bachelor’s of Science in Biomedical/Electrical Engineering at Marquette University. She worked in research and development as an Engineer, and eventually received a Masters of Science in Immunology from Albany Medical College. Her research thesis focused on a novel therapy to treat hormone-receptor positive breast cancer. She continued to study breast cancer with her research during her Radiation Oncology residency; she integrated her research in the laboratory with her clinical research in triple-negative breast cancer. Since completing residency, she has worked as a general radiation oncologist, and her special interests include breast cancer, skin cancer, CNS tumors and stereotactic radiotherapy.

Hao Zhang
Clinical Assistant Professor, Radiation Oncology - Radiation Physics
BioHao Zhang is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Stanford University. He earned his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Stony Brook University, followed by a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at Johns Hopkins University. After completing his clinical physics training through the Stanford University Medical Physics Residency Program, he served as an Assistant Attending Physicist and Assistant Member at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for five years.
His research interests include the development of novel imaging techniques, mathematical modeling of imaging systems and their underlying physics, integration of sophisticated models into iterative or deep learning-based reconstruction methods, and the translation of these approaches to clinical applications in both diagnostic imaging and image-guided radiation therapy. -
Man Zhao

BioMy research primarily focuses on the molecular mechanisms, signaling pathways, and therapeutic targets underlying cancer metabolism, particularly the m6A demethylase FTO. I am also actively exploring the interplay between tumor metabolism and tumor immunity, with the goal of identifying novel metabolic vulnerabilities for cancer treatment.

Xiaoxu Zhong
Postdoctoral Scholar, Radiation Physics
BioI am a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Guillem Pratx Lab, with an expertise in predictive modeling, algorithm development, and data science. I earned my Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Ocean Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. I then received a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, where I focused on developing mathematical models and applying machine learning. My work uncovered the mechanisms behind autoinjectors, drug delivery, and cavitation bubbles, with applications in tumor treatment and the design of medical devices. Currently, I am combining computational modeling and experimental approaches to positron emission tomography imaging, aiming to improve tumor diagnosis and treatment. I am also investigating how ionizing radiation nucleates nano-sized bubbles.

Zixia Zhou

BioZixia Zhou is a postdoctoral researcher at Department of Radiation Oncology, Stanford University. Before starting her postdoc, she received a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering in 2021 from Fudan University. She is interested in improving medical imaging quality in cost-effective manners with artificial intelligence. Broadly, her research focuses on high spatio-temporal ultrasound image reconstruction and high-dimensional data reduction and visualization.
