Resident in MedicineBioDr. Carson T. Moss is an Internal Medicine resident at Stanford and incoming Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine fellow, starting in 2026. He has contributed to multicenter clinical trials including STOP-BOS, ATHOS-III, and PETAL-ROSE. His clinical and research focus centers on pulmonary complications in immunocompromised patients, with particular expertise in bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome (BOS), a rare manifestation of chronic graft-versus-host disease (cGVHD) following allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. His work with Dr. Joe Hsu has been published in Blood Advances and Transplantation and Cellular Therapy, with findings presented at annual ATS meetings.

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsI am a clinician scientist with a background in engineering, epidemiology and neuro-ophthalmology. In my research, I combine tools from these disciplines with the goal of understanding and preventing vision loss from optic nerve diseases. My focus is on papilledema, the swelling of the optic nerve head due to elevation in intracranial pressure, which we are characterizing using electrophysiological and imaging techniques. Other areas of interest are peri-operative vision loss and optic neuritis.

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsImmunopathogenesis of chronic airways diseases of childhood, including cystic fibrosis, asthma, allergic aspergillosis and bronchopulmonary dysplasia. Translational research: early clinical trials in airways disease of childhood, most notably CF, including gene, cytokine and drug therapy. Recent projects focus on development of biomarkers and treatments for allergic fungal lung disease, e.g. inhaled antifungals.

BioI am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Stanford University with a background in computational genomics and deep learning. My research focuses on developing AI-powered tools for genomic analysis, with a particular interest in cancer classification, pangenomes, and genotype imputation. Previously, I worked as a Research Officer at the National Research Council of Canada, contributing to large-scale sequencing projects and machine learning interfaces for biologists. I am passionate about bridging domain biology with cutting-edge computational methods to solve complex biological questions and drive innovation in precision agriculture and healthcare.
