Halldora Gudmundsdottir
Ph.D. Student in Energy Resources Engineering, admitted Autumn 2014
Current Research and Scholarly InterestsMy PhD research focuses on developing predictive models for geothermal systems. I am interested in direct predictions of the future performance of geothermal reservoirs as well as characterization of the subsurface flow behavior that can aid in operational decision making. Currently, I am incorporating principles from statistics and artificial intelligence into workflows that can be used for production and injection optimization.

Murilo Guedes
Fellow in Medicine - Med/Nephrology
BioMurilo Guedes, MD, PhD, is a Fellow in Medicine within the Department of Nephrology and part of the Translational Investigator Program (TIP) within the Department of Medicine at Stanford.
Dr. Guedes’s research is dedicated to improving the lives of patients with chronic kidney disease. His work draws on clinical epidemiology, international patient cohorts, and clinical trials to identify opportunities to improve care across the spectrum of kidney disease. A central focus is understanding how anemia and iron deficiency relate to cardiovascular outcomes, survival, physical function, and quality of life, including the implications of iron deficiency beyond anemia.
His research also examines how dialysis treatments and differences in clinical practice relate to patients’ health and daily experiences, with particular attention to fatigue, physical activity, and recovery after dialysis. His broader work explores gaps in kidney disease detection, risk assessment, and treatment. Across these efforts, he aims to translate clinical evidence into practical strategies that reduce the burden of kidney disease and help patients live longer, healthier lives.
