Hilary Jericho
Clinical Associate Professor, Pediatrics - Gastroenterology
Current Research and Scholarly InterestsI am a clinical associate professor of pediatric gastroenterology and the Inaugural Medical Director of the Celiac Disease Program at the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford whose clinical practice and research have an emphasis on the diagnosis and management of celiac disease. I was appointed the Director of Pediatric Clinical Research at the University of Chicago Celiac Disease Center in 2014. I am deeply involved in both local community and national professional societies serving as the Director of the Chicagoland Children’s Health Alliance (CCHA) endoscopy committee and am a member of the CCHA celiac committee, the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (NASPGHAN) celiac special interest group, CeliacKids (a pediatric multi-center celiac research focused collaborative), the Standards-Based Active Guideline Environment (a committee responsible for the establishment of guidelines for accommodating children with celiac disease within school settings across the United States), and the NASPGHAN Endoscopy committee. My clinical work and research focus on pediatric celiac disease (CeD) and have resulted in numerous publications, peer-reviewed articles, and book chapters. This research has also helped to establish myself as an expert in the field of pediatric celiac disease leading to invitations to speak and be a moderator at both local and national meetings, including the internationally attended University of Chicago Celiac Disease Center educational preceptorship programs, the NASPGHAN annual meeting and Beyond Celiac. I have additionally been called up to provide celiac specific journal reviews as well as expert opinions to leading publications, including US News and World Report, Reader’s Digest and Reuter’s. The current application builds logically on my prior work in the field of pediatric celiac disease for which I have successfully administered the projects (staffing, research coordination, budgeting, data analysis and manuscript creation). In summary, I have the expertise, leadership, training, and motivation necessary to successfully carry out the proposed research projects.

Aleesha Jethwa

BioDr Jethwa is a postdoctoral fellow working in Dr Sultan's lab, within the Obstetric Anesthesiology Department. She is funded by the R90 HEAL/Pain Cohort grant. Her research focuses on the peripartum period and how targeted interventions can alter recovery trajectories.
Dr Jethwa previously worked as a resident anesthesiologist in the UK for 7 years including rotations in Internal Medicine, Obstetrics, and Pain Medicine and completed a Masters in Education at the University of Pennsylvania focused on medical education. -
Michael Christopher Jewett

BioMichael Jewett is a Professor of Bioengineering at Stanford University. He received his B.S. from UCLA and PhD from Stanford University, both in Chemical Engineering. He completed postdoctoral studies at the Center for Microbial Biotechnology in Denmark and the Harvard Medical School. Jewett was also a guest professor at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich). His research group focuses on advancing synthetic biology research to support planet and societal health, with applications in medicine, manufacturing, sustainability, and education.

Rishabh Jha

BioRishabh is an MBA Candidate at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Rishabh was trained as a Materials Engineer at IIT Roorkee in India. Before joining Stanford, he was a product manager at Bain and Company, building scalable AI powered software platforms.
At GSB, Rishabh focuses on space technology, having spent a summer at Aadyah Space where he led their USA go-to-market strategy. His long term ambition is to specialise in microgravity manufacturing, turning in-orbit production from concept to commercial reality.
Outside work, he enjoys flying planes as a private pilot and caring for his thriving collection of indoor plants. -

BioSaumitra Jha is an Associate Professor of Political Economy at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business, and by courtesy, of Economics and of Political Science. He is also a Senior Fellow at the Center for Democracy, Development and the Rule of Law in the Freeman-Spogli Institute for International Affairs and convenes the Stanford Conflict and Polarization Lab.
Saumitra holds a BA from Williams College, master’s degrees in economics and mathematics from the University of Cambridge, and a PhD in economics from Stanford University. Prior to joining the GSB, he was an Academy Scholar at Harvard University. He has been a Center Fellow at the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences, as well as of the Niehaus Center for Globalization and Governance and the Center for the Study of Democratic Politics at Princeton University. He was voted Teacher of the Year by the students of the Stanford GSB Sloan Fellow Class of 2020. He received the Michael Wallerstein Award for best published article in Political Economy from the American Political Science Association in 2014 for his research on ethnic tolerance and his co-authored work on Heroes was awarded the 2020 Oliver Williamson Best Paper Award from the Society for Institutional and Organizational Economics. -

Ruizhe Jia

BioI am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management Science & Engineering at Stanford University. I earned my Ph.D. in Operations Research at Columbia University, advised by Prof. Agostino Capponi, and completed my B.S. and M.A. in Mathematics at UCLA.
My research sits at the intersection of financial technology, market microstructure, and mechanism design. I study how financial markets function and how they can be redesigned for greater efficiency and fairness, with a particular focus on decentralized finance (DeFi) and blockchain-based trading. My work spans three areas:
Market microstructure — analyzing trading behavior and designing better financial markets.
FinTech and DeFi — examining how cryptographic tools and decentralized protocols reshape financial transactions.
Incentives in financial technology — addressing misalignments that emerge in crypto-finance and proposing mechanisms that improve adoption and efficiency.
I believe finance is a social science that benefits from active engagement with real markets. I work closely with both industry and regulators to ensure my research not only advances theory but also informs practice and policy in digital assets and financial technology. -

Can "Angela" Jiang
Clinical Associate Professor, Medicine - Primary Care and Population Health
BioDr. Can "Angela" Jiang is a board certified family physician who enjoys caring for the whole family, from newborn care to geriatrics. She has special interests in women's health, adolescent health, pediatrics, and medical student education. She specializes in primary care procedures including gynecologic procedures.
Prior to medical school, Dr. Jiang was a high school biology teacher in Chicago with Teach for America and loves combining her passions for teaching and medicine on a daily basis at Stanford Family Medicine. Dr. Jiang also teaches residents at the Stanford Health Care-O'Connor Hospital residency program and is the director of the O’Connor-Stanford Leaders in Education Residency Program (OSLER). Dr. Jiang is also passionate about community outreach and works with the Stanford Youth Diabetes Coaches Program.
Outside of clinic, she enjoys hiking, reading, group fitness classes, traveling, and running after her two young kids. -
Emily Jiang
Graduate Admissions System and Operations Manager, Graduate Admissions
BioEmily started her journey at Stanford in 2010 as a graduate student in chemistry. Through her experiences teaching undergraduates and mentoring other teaching assistants in chemistry, she discovered her passion for helping students navigate the intricacies of their academic experience, and this led her to shift her career path toward higher education administration after earning her M.S. in Chemistry in 2012.
Emily spent the early part of her career working in the Department of Electrical Engineering and the Graduate School of Business in functions that span graduate admissions, student life, and course registration for the largest graduate student populations on campus (1000+). In these student services roles, she was always drawn to systems and making operations run more efficiently, and this led her to pursue a unique opportunity to serve as the technical lead for Knight-Hennessy Scholars starting in 2018, the year of the program's inaugural cohort.
In 2021, Emily joined Student and Academic Services as the first Graduate Admissions System and Operations Manager. In this hybrid technical/managerial role, she hopes to establish a strong structure to actively configure and maintain Stanford's new graduate admissions system (Slate by Technolutions), while nurturing a community across campus that will work together to optimize the applicant, staff, and faculty experience. Outside of work, she plays violin in the Palo Alto Philharmonic and practices "kitchen chemistry" through her love of cooking. -
