Bio


Katherine is a digital artist focused on creating engaging medical education content as part of the Education Technology team at Stanford Medicine. Prior to joining Stanford, she was a freelance artist. Katherine has a BFA from Carnegie Mellon University and lives with her partner and dog.

Current Role at Stanford


Katherine has provided production support to the EdTech team as a Media Production Specialist since 2019. She primarily creates illustrations and character designs for EdTech projects, and also dabbles in animation and motion graphics.

Work Experience


  • Media Production Specialist II, Stanford Health Care (7/15/2024 - Present)

    - Creates engaging Medical Education content for students and professionals working in healthcare as part of the Stanford Medicine Education Technology (EdTech) team.

    - Led art direction for EdTech projects, helping to establish the visual identity of major EdTech projects such as Bladder Basics, Teaching Gender-Affirming Care, and Teaching LGBTQ+ Health.

    - Storyboarded and developed visual concepts for EdTech projects in collaboration with instructional designers and subject matter experts.

    - Led production of short animated educational videos, such as Disability Accommodations in Healthcare and What to Expect After Your Lower Anterior Resection Surgery, from storyboard to final delivery.

    - Designed and animated characters using Character Animator and After Effects.

    - Created and animated motion graphics using After Effects.

    - Assisted with on-site video shoots as a production assistant, operating cameras, audio, and setup/breakdown of equipment.
