Bill Yen

BioBill Yen is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Stanford University working in the area of low-power Internet of Things (IoT) systems. He is an interdisciplinary maker and environmental scientist passionate about solving issues related to food, water, and energy using smart technologies.
Yen's experience in industry (General Motors, CNH Industrial) and academic research (Northwestern - soil-powered computing, Stanford - low-power wireless communication) cultivated his interest in designing self-powered computing devices that boost system efficiency while lowering the environmental impact of existing processes. His work has been featured by The Independent, Fast Company, MIT Technology Review China, Hackster.io, and more. He is also a recipient of the Stanford Graduate Fellowship in Science & Engineering. -
Jeongwoong Yoon (Yoon)
Ph.D. Student in Bioengineering, admitted Autumn 2023
BioMy previous research in Japan focused on the development of genetic tools for marine bivalves. Inspired by the experience, I am seeking to find efficient and universally applicable methods to study non-model organisms that lack research infrastructure. As a biologist, I am most excited about the evolution of reproduction, everything from gametogenesis to reproductive behavior.

BioAngelina is a MS student in Management Science & Engineering at Stanford University, specializing in technology and engineering management. She is passionate about leveraging technology and analytics to address societal issues and assist the underprivileged. She has four years of data science and product experience at Meta and two other high-growth tech startups but she is also interested in entrepreneurship. Outside of work, she serves as a project-client manager for Statistics Without Borders and co-leads a graduate student startup community at Stanford. An explorer at heart, Angelina has a wide range of interests, including dancing, boxing, cooking, traveling, and cuddling with her baby Yorkie, Yoyo.
