Xinyu Zhou
Postdoctoral Scholar, Electrical Engineering
BioXin Yu Zhou (S’15-M’18-SM’21) was born in Tsingtao, Shandong Province, China. He received an M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electronic engineering from City University of Hong Kong, Kowloon, Hong Kong, in 2014 and 2018, respectively.
From 2014 to 2015, he was a research assistant with the Sun Yat-sen University - Carnegie Mellon University (SYSU-CMU) Shunde international joint research institute, China. From 2018 to 2020, he was a postdoctoral fellow with the Department of Electrical Engineering at the City University of Hong Kong, Kowloon, Hong Kong. From 2020 to 2021, he was a postdoctoral research associate with the Department of Electrical Engineering at Princeton University, New Jersey, U.S.A. He is currently a postdoctoral research fellow with the Department of Electrical Engineering at Stanford University, California, USA. His current research interests include broadband high-efficiency and high-linearity power amplifiers in RF and millimeter-wave, integrated circuits, and microwave passive circuits.
Dr. Zhou was a recipient of the First Place Award of the High-Efficiency Power Amplifier Student Design Competition, IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (IEEE MTT-S) International Microwave Symposium (IMS) in 2017 and a recipient of the Second Place Award of the same Student Design Competition in 2018. He is also an affiliate member of the MTT-12 Microwave High-Power Techniques Committee. Dr. Zhou is currently the associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I: Regular Papers, IET Electronics Letters, and a technical program committee (TPC) member for IEEE IMS, and the reviewer for over ten internationally refereed journals and conferences, including four IEEE Transactions and two IEEE Letters. -

Roseanna N. Zia

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsMy lab unifies mesoscale physics and chemistry with cellular-level biology through novel theoretical modeling and large-scale computational simulations. We work in four areas: 1) constructing micro-continuum theory of complex fluids; 2) mechanistically explaining non-equilibrium phase transitions in colloidal systems; 3) modeling confined and large-scale hydrodynamically-interacting colloidal suspensions; and 4) modeling the physics of living cells.

Claudia Zielke

BioAfter a BS and MS in Chemistry from the Freie Universität Berlin, Germany, I used my expertise in physical and analytical Chemistry to received a PhD from the Department of Food Technology, Engineering and Nutrition at Lund's University in Sweden. I specialized within the Field-Flow Fractionation family, a very versatile and gentle separation technique able to separate large size ranges, from nanometer up to several micrometer. My thesis was titled "On the Aggregation of Cereal β-Glucan and its Association with other Biomolecules: A Study using Asymmetric Flow Field-Flow Fractionation (AF4)". After a postdoctoral position at Santa Clara University, CA, USA, I am now setting up an Asymmetric Flow Field-Flow Fractionation system with several detectors in the Barron Lab, BioE, here at Stanford.

Blockchain bootstrapping in proof-of-work using Non-Interactive Proofs of Proof-of-Work (PoPoW, NIPoPoWs) and in proof-of-stake using Proofs of Proof-of-Stake (PoPoS). Superlight clients and logspace mining. Cross-chain communication, sidechains, chain interoperability. Gradual deployment mechanisms (soft forks, velvet forks), blockchain upgradability. Optimistic and zero-knowledge rollups. Smart contracts.

Orr Zohar

BioOrr Zohar, from Haifa, Israel, is pursuing a PhD in electrical engineering at Stanford School of Engineering. He graduated summa cum laude from the Technion with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and a master’s degree in electrical engineering. Orr aspires to research, develop, and translate novel computational imaging technologies for the improvement of surgical care and surgical care accessibility. Before coming to Stanford, he was a data analytics engineer at proteanTecs and a junior researcher at the Technion's LNBD, where he developed soft electronic platforms that can heal, detect damage, and serve as multifunctional electronic skins. During his undergraduate degree, Orr worked as a visiting undergraduate researcher at the de la Zerda group, Stanford University, where he developed OCT image processing algorithms for improved molecular contrast and depth-of-field. Orr is a Bazan Group scholar and was awarded the Sieden family prize for his contributions to YBCO-based photon detectors' development.

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsMy group works on both foundations of statistical machine learning and applications in biomedicine and healthcare. We develop new technologies that make ML more accountable to humans, more reliable/robust and reveals core scientific insights.
We want our ML to be impactful and beneficial, and as such, we are deeply motivated by transformative applications in biotech and health. We collaborate with and advise many academic and industry groups. -
