Catherine Duarte

BioDr. Catherine Duarte is an IDEAL Provostial Fellow based in the Department of Epidemiology & Population Health at Stanford University’s School of Medicine. She received her PhD in Epidemiology from the University of California, Berkeley School of Public Health and her Master of Science in Social and Behavioral Sciences from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. As a doctoral student, Duarte was selected to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Health Policy Research Scholars Program - a national leadership training program bringing together scholars from across academic disciplines whose applied research seeks to contribute to building healthier and more equitable communities. Duarte’s work specifically focuses on examining how education and legal system policy and practices may shape racial health inequities throughout the life course. In so doing, her work aims to contribute to systems-level interventions designed to support health equity and wellbeing for collective thriving.

Piotr Dubrowski
Clinical Instructor, Radiation Oncology - Radiation Physics
BioPiotr Dubrowski is a Canadian trained and board-certified Therapy Medical Physicist. Throughout his career Piotr has had the opportunity to bring several new Cancer Clinics operational from the ground up, where he was able to hone a broad, systems-approach to Radiation Oncology. He was recently promoted to Associate Quality Director of Physics responsible for improving patient safety and workflow/technology improvements across a wide cancer care network. Piotr’s research interests focus mainly on improving the treatment planning process and increasing clinic safety through software development and hardware 3D-print prototyping. Additionally, Piotr has sought out opportunities to give back to the Global community with participation in the Stanford Global Radiation Oncology Outreach efforts expanding education and access to care in Tanzania and Kenya and throughout the developing world via online Radiation Therapy courses.

Ramzi Emanuel Dudum

Masters Student in Health Policy, admitted Autumn 2022BioDr. Dudum is a cardiologist, public health specialist, and outcomes researcher working to develop novel risk prediction methods and implementation strategies to create practices and systems that allow for reductions in cardiovascular disease. He completed a Masters in Public Health at Johns Hopkins concentrating in epidemiology and biostatistics and a Doctorate of Medicine at George Washington University. He is currently a candidate for a Masters of Science in Health Policy at Stanford.
He completed internal medicine residency training as part of the Osler Medical Service, where he worked under the mentorship of Drs. Roger Blumenthal and Michael Blaha to study improving cardiovascular risk prediction and coronary artery calcium. Given his focus on population health and implementation science, he also helped launch and refine risk adjustment tools and implemented guideline-directed medical care pathways. During his time there, he was recognized for his clinical acumen and dedication to patient care.
He came to Stanford for his cardiovascular medicine fellowship and continued research in coronary artery calcium under the mentorship of Drs. David Maron and Fatima Rodriguez while also conducting cardiovascular health implementation science work under the mentorship of Dr. Steve Asch. He serves as the co-investigator of a prospective randomized trial testing the effects of notification of incidental coronary artery calcium on statin initiation rates among those with and without cardiovascular disease (NCT 05588895). He has worked with hospital leaders to implement digital health and artificial intelligence tools, creating the infrastructure for the prospective use of AI-algorithms on radiology studies. As a preventive cardiologist and population health specialist, he leads efforts in the preventive cardiology section related to improving cardiovascular health. -

Rachelle Dugue, MD, PhD
Clinical Assistant Professor, Neurology & Neurological Sciences
BioDr. Dugue is a board-certified neurologist within the Neurohospitalist Division. She cares for patients at both Stanford Health Care and Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley. She received her MD and PhD at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, where she completed a thesis studying novel treatments for traumatic brain injury. Dr. Dugue then completed her neurology residency at Columbia University Medical Center-New York Presbyterian, followed by a vascular neurology fellowship at Stanford University Hospital.
Dr. Dugue provides comprehensive, individualized care for patients with a wide range of neurological conditions. She has been recognized for her dedication to excellence in patient care, medical education, and student mentorship.
Her research interests are centered on health equity in neurology care and clinical trials, stroke, and neuroinfectious disease. Dr. Dugue has published in multiple peer-reviewed journals, including The Neurohospitalist, Practical Neurology, Annals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, and Neurology. -
Shefali Dujari, MD

BioDr. Dujari is a board-certified neurologist and fellowship-trained neurohospitalist, specializing in the care of acute neurologic disorders. She practices at both Stanford Hospital and Stanford ValleyCare. She completed her medical training at Boston University, internal medicine preliminary year at California Pacific Medical Center, neurology residency at Stanford University, and neurohospitalist fellowship at Stanford University. She serves as the Neurology Resident & Fellow Wellness & Mentoring Committee faculty lead, the associated program director of the Stanford Neurohospitalist Fellowship, and the physician lead of the ValleyCare Neuroscience Quality Committee. She has a special interest in medical education and quality improvement.

Tamara Dunn

BioDr. Tamara Dunn is a clinical associate professor in the Division of Hematology at the Stanford University School of Medicine. She is a clinician with a special interest in medical education, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Specifically, she is committed to improving workforce diversity and creating inclusive workplaces. She is currently the Program Director for the Stanford Hematology/Oncology Fellowship and one of the Associate Chairs of Diversity and Inclusion for the Department of Medicine at Stanford. She is a member of the inaugural American Society of Hematology (ASH) Ambassador Cohort and serves on the ASH Women in Hematology committee, which she co-chairs. She is on the steering committee and is a mentor for Stanford’s Leadership Education in Advancing Diversity (LEAD) program. She takes pride in treating underserved veterans at the Palo Alto Veterans Hospital, where she sees both classical and malignant hematology. Outside of medicine she enjoys singing, dancing, sports (Go Chiefs! Go Warriors!), board games, movies, and spending time with friends and family including her 3 young children, spouse, and energetic vizsla Casey.

BioI am a research physical therapist with over 19 years of experience as a practicing clinician and most of it in neuromuscular clinical research. My doctoral studies focused on effects of contracture development on downstream musculoskeletal and biomechanical changes associated with changes in function.I hope to continue work in novel outcomes development with other neuromuscular diseases as well as pursue work on the benefits of rehabilitation and exercise as conjunctive therapies in neuromuscular disease.
Character is the driving force in my work and collaborations. The most important qualities I find in people are integrity, work ethic, humility, empathy, leadership, initiative and drive...I live by Ralph Waldo Emerson's Success poem..."to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." I find it difficult at times to summarize ones own accomplishments or impact. So I would like to share a recommendation that was written about me in which I hope to refer back as my north star in both my personal and professional life.
"Dr Tina Duong is a world renown physiotherapist, master trainer, clinical investigator, scientific academician and most importantly an INCREDIBLE person. I had the privilege of working with her side by side during the development of a new therapy for spinal muscular atrophy. Her determination to help the scientific community, patients and carers is truly inspiring. Her knowledge and skills place her at the vanguard of clinical translation of data and meaningful patient outcomes. Her capabilities span everything from publications, meeting moderation, speaker events and clinical training.
