Fereshteh Jahanbani
Basic Life Research Scientist, Medicine - Med/Immunology & Rheumatology
BioDr. Jahanbani received her PharmD from Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) and PhD in pharmacology from Iran University of Medical Sciences (IUMS) and her postdoctoral degree from Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) and University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC). She joined Stanford Center for Genomics and Personalized Medicine in June 2012. Her work is focused on better understanding the etiology of chronic complex conditions and multi-morbidity using multi-omics and precision health approaches. She has been leading ME/CFS related disorders multi-omics study combining the power of both family and population approaches and also cofounded “Research To The People at Stanford Program”.

Bhav Jain
MD Student with Scholarly Concentration in Health Services & Policy Research / Surgery, expected graduation Spring 2028
BioBhav Jain is pursuing an MD at the Stanford School of Medicine as a Knight-Hennessy Scholar, Harry S. Truman Scholar, and Samvid Scholar. He graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with a bachelor’s degree in computer science and brain and cognitive sciences. At MIT, he was a Legatum Fellow and received the 40 Under 40 in Cancer Award.
His research on healthcare delivery, social determinants of health, and value-based care has been published in outlets such as Nature Medicine, The Lancet Digital Health, JAMA Oncology, Journal of the National Cancer Institute, American Journal of Public Health, Cancer, Journal of the American College of Surgeons, Journal of General Internal Medicine, and American Journal of Managed Care. While at MIT, he launched The Connected Foundation, which forges intergenerational connections between youth and seniors, and Compass, an SMS platform that streamlines patient intake and scheduling. Most recently, he served as a Fellow at the Boston Public Health Commission to implement interventions aimed at curbing substance abuse and homelessness. As a physician-policymaker, Bhav aspires to create high-value, evidence-based healthcare systems that transform clinical care globally. In particular, he seeks to innovate at both public- and private-sector organizations during his career to improve the quality of and lower the cost of patient care. -
Shaili Jain, MD
Adjunct Clinical Professor, Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences
BioDr. Jain is a board certified psychiatrist with specialty expertise in posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), primary and mental health integrated care, and women’s health psychiatry. She is a former health services researcher, affiliated with the National Center for PTSD, who focuses on developing innovative ways to enhance the reach of mental healthcare in underserved populations with PTSD. Her work is widely accredited for elucidating the role of paraprofessionals and peers in the treatment of American veterans with PTSD.
She serves as the Psychiatry representative on Stanford's Executive Committee of the Association of Adjunct Clinical Faculty (AACF) and is also a council member for the Adjunct Clinical Faculty (ACF) council in Stanford's department of psychiatry. She is a distinguished fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.
Dr. Jain is an internationally recognized leader in communicating to the public about trauma and PTSD. Her posts for her Psychology Today blog on PTSD, In the Aftermath of Trauma, have been viewed over 350,000 times. Her acclaimed debut non-fiction trade book, The Unspeakable Mind: Stories of Trauma and Healing from the Frontlines of PTSD Science (Harper, 2019), was nominated for a National Book Award, and her essays and commentaries on trauma and PTSD have been presented by the BBC, CNN, The New York Times, STAT, Newsweek, The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, USA Today, TEDx, public radio, and others -
Sneha Shah Jain MD, MBA
Clinical Assistant Professor, Medicine - Cardiovascular Medicine
BioDr. Sneha S. Jain is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine. She specializes in general cardiovascular medicine and preventive cardiology.
She received her MD from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and her MBA from Harvard Business School. She graduated with distinction from Duke University with a BS in Economics. She completed internal medicine resident training at Columbia/NewYork-Presbyterian, during which time she was selected as a Silverman Fellow in Healthcare Innovation. In this capacity, she worked with clinical and data science partners to build and deploy the technological infrastructure to identify patients with certain cardiac conditions earlier in the course of their disease. She subsequently pursued fellowship training in cardiovascular medicine at Stanford University prior to joining faculty.
Her research focuses on the development and responsible evaluation of AI to augment healthcare delivery and improve patient outcomes in cardiology. She works with the Stanford Center for Clinical Research and the Data Science Team at Stanford to deploy and prospectively evaluate AI solutions across the healthcare enterprise. -
Siddhartha Jaiswal
Associate Professor of Pathology
Current Research and Scholarly InterestsWe identified a common disorder of aging called clonal hematopoiesis of indeterminate potential (CHIP). CHIP occurs due to certain somatic mutations in blood stem cells and represents a precursor state for blood cancer, but is also associated with increased risk of cardiovascular disease and death. We hope to understand more about the biology and clinical implications of CHIP using human and model system studies.
