Current Research and Scholarly InterestsDr. Joshi's teaching and research focuses on increasing knowledge and effectiveness of school mental health, youth wellbeing, positive psychology, pediatric psychotherapy and medication interventions. Areas of study include: the therapeutic alliance in medical care, structured psychotherapy interventions, cultural issues in pediatrics, wellbeing promotion and suicide prevention in schools settings, and faculty development in graduate medical education.

Anusha Murali Kakolu, PhD
Clinical Assistant Professor, Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences - Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and Child Development
BioAnusha Murali Kakolu, PhD (she/her) received her PhD in clinical psychology from Palo Alto University and completed her predoctoral pediatric psychology residency at the Cleveland Clinic, followed by a postdoctoral residency at Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara Medical Center. She also holds a master’s degree in mental health counseling and behavioral medicine from Boston University School of Medicine.
Anusha’s research and clinical work focus particularly on pediatric health psychology and anxiety. She has a strong commitment to supporting diverse youth and their families, especially those with complex medical conditions. Her training spans multiple specialties, including solid organ transplant, nephrology, endocrinology, genetic conditions, hematology, and oncology.
Anusha is also a passionate educator, serving as adjunct faculty in the doctoral and master’s programs at various universities. She is deeply dedicated to teaching, mentorship, and the supervision of students and trainees and is actively involved in several mentorship programs with the APA. She is an avid baker and yogi and enjoys reading and traveling -
Lynn Kern Koegel
Clinical Professor, Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences - Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and Child Development
BioDr. Lynn Kern Koegel has been active in the development of programs to improve communication in children with autism, including the development of first words, grammatical structures, pragmatics, and social conversation. In addition to her published books and articles in the area of communication and language development, she has developed and published procedures and field manuals in the area of self-management and functional analysis that are used in school districts and by parents throughout the United States, as well as translated in other major languages. Dr. Lynn Koegel is the author of Overcoming Autism and Growing Up on the Spectrum with parent Claire LaZebnik, published by Viking/Penguin and available in most bookstores. Lynn Koegel and her husband, Robert, are the developers of Pivotal Response Treatment which focuses on motivation. The Koegels have been the recipients of many awards, including the first annual Children’s Television Workshop Sesame Street Award for “Brightening the Lives of Children”, the first annual Autism Speaks award for “Science and Research” and the International ABA award for “enduring programmatic contributions in behavior analysis.” In addition, Dr. Lynn Koegel appeared on ABC’s hit show “Supernanny” working with a child with autism. Their work has also been showcased on ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, and the Discovery Channel. The Koegels are the recipients of many state, federal, and private foundation gifts and grants for developing interventions and helping families with autism spectrum disorder.

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsI am interested in better understanding the heterogeneous cognitive and electrophysiological abnormalities in children with ADHD and the many other conditions that commonly co-occur with ADHD. The long-term goal is to be able to better target treatments to specific deficits in order to promote long-term health and well-being and improve outcomes that matter to individuals and families suffering from these disorders.

He directs the eating disorder program in Child Psychiatry and is active in treatment research for children and adolescents with eating disorders.

Celeste Poe, Ph.D., PMH-C
Clinical Assistant Professor, Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences - Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and Child Development
BioDr. Celeste Poe is a licensed clinical psychologist with a certification in perinatal mental health. She completed her residency and fellowship training at the Yale Child Study Center. She received her Ph.D. from Palo Alto University, her master’s degree from Pepperdine University and is a proud HBCU alumni of Xavier University of Louisiana where she received her bachelor’s degree.
Dr. Poe is a Clinical Assistant Professor and Attending NICU and Perinatal Psychologist at Stanford University School of Medicine. She is the director of the NICU Psychology Program at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital where she provides psychological consultation and psychotherapy to parents requiring hospitalization due to high risk pregnancies and parents of infants hospitalized in the NICU. Dr. Poe’s clinical specialties include perinatal mental health and maternal-infant critical care with a focus on child and caregiver trauma, grief, and bereavement, as well as children ages 0-5 and parenting. Her research focuses on Black perinatal mental health and mental health equity, infant and parent mental health in medical settings, and intergenerational trauma. Dr. Poe is a registered Circle of Security Parenting facilitator and is a rostered Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) provider.
Dr. Poe also holds an appointment as a Clinical Instructor at the Yale Child Study Center where she works on the Grief-Sensitive Healthcare Project which aims to enhance medical providers’ capacities to meet the needs of grieving families.
