BioDrew Spence serves as Policy Program Manager for the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI) where he leads policy education programs, student fellowships, and outreach to policymakers in Washington and beyond. Prior to joining the team at HAI, Drew held multiple roles in government, most recently on Vice President Kamala Harris' legislative affairs team. He also worked for the U.S. Department of the Treasury, in the U.S. Senate, and in the California Attorney General's office. He is a graduate of George Washington University.

Prior to taking this role, Vicki supported the Chief Medical Officer and Chief Dental Officer for a group of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC). She has also provided executive support to individuals in the field(s) of healthcare, food equity, and pre-clinical drug development.
Her passions are health equity and whole-system integrated care. -
Caleb Matthew Spiro

BioMy main research interest revolves around understanding the general cognitive and affective properties of the mind, and how the prognosis of good and poor mental health status affects the developmental trajectories under chronic stress. To what extent reward-based networks can lead to increased proximity to vulnerability or heightened sensitivity to mental illness, specifically within the context of youth and adolescents, is an area that I am especially interested in. I am most interested in what factors help individuals become more resilient and build a narrative that they can get better with the right treatment practices. I believe that this can be done by combining neuroscience and functional imaging techniques (ex: fMRI, EEG) into the study and practice of clinical psychology.

BioI develop computational methods to discover insights at various resolutions of the biological hierarchy i.e., molecules, cells, tissues, organs, organism and population-scale.
In my current role, I lead the bioinformatics efforts for two groups that are pioneers in epigenomics research.
We study tissue development, cancer evolution, and autoimmunity using multiomics, with a focus on the non-coding genome.
I have five years of professional experience in industry and academia, and over eight years of academic research experience.
I received my Ph.D. in Data Science specializing in machine learning development for diverse biomedical problems.
My research interests include artificial intelligence to identify novel patterns in multiomics data, psychometrics and neuroimaging data; structural bioinformatics and computational epidemiology. Additionally, I have conducted research in anomaly detection, and community detection in biological networks.
I am the co-inventor of a patented anomaly detection method for real-time streaming data. -

BioALMENDRA STAFFA-HEALEY, is an ICF Certified Coach, an Intercultural Trainer & International and Experiential Learning Educator. She teaches 'Integration into Spanish Society: Service Learning and Professional Opportunities' in the Bing Overseas Studies Program in Madrid. She was born in Granada, Spain to US American parents, and has lived extensively in both countries as a child and as an adult. Over the past twenty years she has worked in the field of international and intercultural education and business. Almendra’s professional focus is cross-cultural understanding through coaching, education and training. She co-authored En clase, en el trabajo, entre la gente, a book commissioned by the European Union's Leonardo da Vinci Mobility Programme on perfecting foreign language, interpersonal and intercultural skills through internships abroad. Almendra is a Qualified Administrator (QA) of the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI ®), one of the most widely used tools for assessing and developing intercultural competence at the individual, group, and organizational levels. She is also a Senior Facilitator of the cross cultural and transitions methodology Personal Leadership, Making a World of Difference®. Almendra holds a Bachelor's degree from New York University in Art History, an MBA from the Instituto de Estudios Bursátiles, an institution associated with the Universidad Complutense of Madrid and the Madrid Stock Exchange, as well as an MA in Social Anthropology from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. She has served as the SIETAR Spain President. SIETAR is the Society for Intercultural Education, Training and Research, and international network of professionals dedicated to the intercultural field.
