BioPatrize completed their B.S. in Neuroscience and minor in Psychology at the University of Nevada, Reno. In their undergraduate career, Patrize participated in research studying the etiology and treatment of anxiety and stress-related disorders. They are currently interested in translational neuropsychiatric research, specifically addressing clinical intervention in diverse communities and eliminating health disparity in research. Prior to working at Stanford, they worked as an afterschool teacher for underserved students in San Jose. Outside of the lab, Patrize enjoys creating polymer clay art and volunteering in local mutual aid groups.

Neida Basheer Ahmad

BioNeida Basheer Ahmad, Ph.D., is a Social Science Researcher in the Walkout! Lab for Youth Justice, focusing on a project that aims to understand the education paths that lead to and through incarceration for youth to shed light on the impact of multiple oppressions and intersectional challenges on their lives. She earned her Ph.D. from the Race, Inequality, and Language in Education program in the Stanford Graduate School of Education in 2024. Her research interests include intersectionality, critical policy analysis, language policy, bilingual education, raciolinguistic ideologies, ethnic studies, and culturally sustaining pedagogies. Her research explores the co-naturalization of language and race in language policy making and implementation. She is also concerned about asymmetrical power relationships in research and seeks to create reciprocal relationships with her research participants.

Karen Ajluni

BioKaren Ajluni is the Director of Finance and Operations in the Departments of Philosophy and Religious Studies within the School of Humanities and Sciences (H&S) at Stanford University. Previously, Karen worked for six years as the Finance Manager in the Physics Department, also within H&S. Before coming to Stanford, Karen worked for four years at Santa Clara University, most recently as Assistant Dean of Administration and Finance in the School of Education and Counseling Psychology. Prior to that she was the Operations and Administration Manager of the Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship. Karen has been employed in non-profit and educational administration for over 25 years, and has experience with a wide variety of organizations, including Downtown College Prep High School, the Girl Scouts of Northern California, EHC Lifebuilders, Futures without Violence, and Project Match. She received a B.S. in Psychology from Santa Clara University and a Masters in Public Administration from San Jose State University. Karen lives in downtown San Jose with her husband and three children.
