Xiaolin Zheng

BioProfessor Zheng received her Ph.D. in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University (2006), B.S. in Thermal Engineering from Tsinghua University (2000). Prior to joining Stanford in 2007, Professor Zheng did her postdoctoral work in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Harvard University. Professor Zheng is a member of MRS, ACS and combustion institute. Professor Zheng received the TR35 Award from the MIT Technology Review (2013), one of the 100 Leading Global Thinkers by the Foreign Policy Magazine (2013), 3M Nontenured Faculty Grant Award (2013), the Presidential Early Career Award (PECASE) from the white house (2009), Young Investigator Awards from the ONR (2008), DARPA (2008), Terman Fellowship from Stanford (2007), and Bernard Lewis Fellowship from the Combustion Institute (2004).

Xueli(Sherry) Zheng

BioXueli (Sherry) Zheng is a Physical Science Research Scientist in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Stanford University. Dr. Zheng has over 10 years of experience in battery technology, electrochemistry, materials science, X-ray science, and catalysis. Throughout her career, she has published more than 50 peer-reviewed papers, with over 11,000 citations and an H-index 36 (according to Google Scholar). Her research focuses on 1) advancing the design, synthesis, and characterization of 2D nanomaterials, leveraging her extensive background and specialized expertise in materials synthesis and synchrotron X-ray spectroscopy/imaging characterization. 2) advanced synchrotron-based characterization techniques, particularly for studying interfaces, surfaces, and nanomaterial properties. These include in situ measurements to explore catalytic reactions, lithium metal batteries, and aqueous battery systems. 3) decarbonizing steelmaking using sustainable hydrogen; 4) critical materials including Li/Co and rare earth element characterization and extraction. 5) leveraging fundamental science to enable translational research across many sustainable energy technologies, including batteries and decarbonizing steelmaking.

Yanhua Zheng

BioYanhua Zheng is a native Cantonese Speaker with more than 10 years of experience in education. She immigrated to the US in 2014 and received her combined B.A. and Masters in Chinese from San Francisco State University, one of the nations top-ranked Chinese language programs. She now lives in Palo Alto with her son and her husband. Yanhua is also an avid reader, writer, and artist.

Xiaoxu Zhong
Postdoctoral Scholar, Radiation Physics
BioI am a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Guillem Pratx Lab, with an expertise in predictive modeling, algorithm development, and data science. I earned my Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Ocean Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. I then received a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, where I focused on developing mathematical models and applying machine learning. My work uncovered the mechanisms behind autoinjectors, drug delivery, and cavitation bubbles, with applications in tumor treatment and the design of medical devices. Currently, I am combining computational modeling and experimental approaches to positron emission tomography imaging, aiming to improve tumor diagnosis and treatment. I am also investigating how ionizing radiation nucleates nano-sized bubbles.

Anna Ting Zhou
Clinical Assistant Professor, Surgery - Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
BioDr. Anna Ting Zhou is a board-certified, fellowship-trained plastic surgeon with Stanford Health Care. She is also a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Stanford University School of Medicine.
Dr. Zhou performs a wide range of plastic and reconstructive surgeries to restore both function and appearance for patients affected by cancer and trauma. She specializes in breast reconstruction following breast-conserving surgery (lumpectomy) and mastectomy, offering the full spectrum of reconstruction options. Dr. Zhou also specializes in advanced surgical techniques to prevent and treat lymphedema. She performs procedures such as immediate lymphatic reconstruction, lymphovenous bypass, and vascularized lymph node transfer, helping restore lymphatic drainage and improve patients' quality of life.
A patient-centered approach guides Dr. Zhou’s practice. She believes that successful reconstruction begins with listening carefully to each patient's concerns, understanding their goals, and working together to develop a personalized surgical plan. She is dedicated to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care and partnering with each patient throughout their reconstructive journey.
Dr. Zhou's research focuses on advancing reconstructive microsurgery and improving outcomes in breast reconstruction and lymphedema surgery. Her work has explored techniques to preserve breast sensation following mastectomy and novel methods of hybrid breast reconstruction. She has also investigated the use of a medical implant to augment lymphedema surgery and how to optimize lymphedema treatment algorithms. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in leading journals, including Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Journal of Surgical Oncology, and Journal of Clinical Medicine, and has presented her research at national and international scientific meetings.
Dr. Zhou is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the California Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery.
