BioDr. Fabián Sanchis Gomar (M.D., Ph.D.) has published more than 345 manuscripts in international peer-reviewed journals related to several topics, wide-ranging in cardiology, arrhythmias, aging, exercise, and oxidative stress. His most relevant works have been based on the molecular and physiopathological mechanisms implicated in various diseases and identifying potential novel mechanisms and biomarkers associated with those diseases' pathogenesis.
As a dedicated researcher in the field of arrhythmias and sports cardiology, his journey has been driven by a deep-seated passion for unraveling the complexities of the heart, particularly in the context of athletic performance. His fascination with the heart's rhythm and how it adapts to the extreme demands of sports began early in his career as a medical student, where he was captivated by the intricate balance between physical excellence and cardiac health.
Throughout his years in academia and research, Dr. Sanchis-Gomar has been privileged to work at the forefront of sports cardiology, a field that sits at the fascinating intersection of cardiology and sports medicine. His postdoc research focused on the pathophysiology of arrhythmias in elite athletes, shedding light on how intense physical training can alter cardiac function and rhythm. Ryan Sandoval, M.D.
Clinical Assistant Professor, Medicine - Cardiovascular Medicine
BioDr. Sandoval is a board-certified cardiologist and a clinical assistant professor in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the University of Texas at Austin, where he continued on as chief resident before going on to complete his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the Medical University of South Carolina. Prior to his residency, he completed a research fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH).
His clinical interests include preventive cardiology and management of heart failure. He is particularly focused on treating patients with the complex clinical syndrome of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF).
His interest in preventive cardiology grew through his participation in clinics for the uninsured and underinsured during his training. These experiences fostered his passion for understanding and addressing health care disparities. He is deeply committed to providing exceptional patient care with a personalized approach to treatment and improving the lives of his patients.
He is a member of the American College of Cardiology. -

Joshua M. Spin

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsDr. Spin began his research career studying the structural biology of low density lipoprotein, and has had intensive training in molecular biology techniques, particularly high-throughput genetic expression profiling. He is especially interested in vascular smooth muscle cells, and the role of smooth muscle differentiation and phenotypic switching in development, and in vascular disease. His latest work has focused on the biology of aortic aneurysms.

BioDr. Sutedjo is a board-certified, fellowship-trained cardiologist. She is a faculty in the Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine.
Dr. Sutedjo holds seven board certifications. She specializes in complex cardiovascular conditions, emphasizing multimodality cardiovascular imaging and disease prevention. She integrates leading-edge diagnostics with evidence-based strategies to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care. She has led multidisciplinary clinics, telehealth programs, and ambulatory operations to enhance accessibility and efficiency.
Dr. Sutedjo has a visionary approach to the future of cardiovascular medicine, particularly in the context of the rapidly evolving digital era. With a clear understanding of the need for innovative business models in healthcare, she pursued an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania to complement her medical expertise. As a physician executive and clinical researcher, she has deep expertise in clinical operations, health care delivery, and finance. Her diverse background spans private practice, integrated healthcare systems, and managed care settings, providing her with a comprehensive perspective on the healthcare landscape. Dr. Sutedjo’s research explores AI, machine learning, and digital health applications in cardiovascular risk prediction, diagnosis, and treatment. She aims to improve efficiency, reduce disparities, and enhance precision in clinical decision-making.
Dr. Sutedjo has published her work in Circulation, The American Journal of Medicine, and 21st Century Cardiology. She has also presented at the American Heart Association Scientific Sessions and other national and international conferences, engaging with industry leaders and private sector stakeholders on the role of AI in health care. She has co-founded several health technology startups and served as a consultant for leading technology companies and private sector organizations. Jeffrey Teuteberg

On Leave from 12/15/2025 To 12/14/2027BioHe is currently a Professor of Medicine at Stanford, but is no longer seeing patients as he is on leave and working with industry.
His research interests are in clinical outcomes in patients after transplant and mechanical support as well as novel approaches to immunosuppression. He has participated in many single-center and multi-institutional research studies and has published widely in the fields of transplant and mechanical support. He served as President of the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation in 2018. -
Lindsay Thomas, RN, MS, CNS

BioMs. Lindsay Thomas earned her BA in Integrative Biology from UC Berkeley in 2003 and her RN and MS from UCSF in 2006 and 2009 respectively. She completed a Double Master’s in Cardiovascular Nursing and Genomics and is a board certified clinical nurse specialist in critical care nursing. She joined the Stanford Interventional Cardiology Team in 2011 where she has pioneered the advanced practice nursing role in the cath lab and been a leader in the development of the Left Atrial Appendage Closure program. She serves as adjunct faculty for the UCSF graduate nursing program and is the co-chair of the Northern California Chapter of the Preventative Cardiovascular Nurses Association. Lindsay specializes in treating and caring for patients with established coronary artery disease and cardiovascular risk factors; she strives to provide excellent patient care and education to optimize a heart healthy life style to promote wellness with use of medications and invasive procedures when life style alone is not enough to achieve desired results. When not working Lindsay is an outdoor and exercise enthusiast, who enjoys participating in various endurance activities and has completed several triathlons. She also enjoys reading and discussions with her book club, going to the theater, and spending quality time with her friends and family.

BioI’m passionate about the many intersections between health, technology, and behavior. Specifically with how wearable devices and mobile technologies can be leveraged to measure and promote better health outcomes across all populations. After earning my BS in Kinesiology, I have formed a strong analytical background in wearable technology and health through my involvement in numerous clinical health studies and research projects. To supplement my interest, I have had multiple academic pieces accepted by Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise (MSSE) and The Journal for the Measurement of Physical Behaviour (ISMPB).
