Through clinical research, she aims to understand barriers and facilitators to diabetes self-management, how families and individuals with diabetes respond to health technology, and how to best provide services that engage youth and their families. She is a member of the Stanford Diabetes Research Center.

Trishna Narula, MD, MPH
Clinical Assistant Professor, Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences
BioDr. Trishna Narula is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University, where she provides psychiatric care across inpatient, emergency, and outpatient settings and teaches and supervises medical students and residents. She serves patients through Stanford’s Women’s Wellness Clinic, Adult ADHD Assessment Clinic, and Centerspace Clinic, where she is the founding and leading psychiatrist of Stanford’s innovative clinical program focused on South Asian mental health. She also provides psychiatric care to a diverse Medicaid population through Momentum for Health, a nonprofit community mental health organization. Dr. Narula’s clinical practice integrates evidence-based psychopharmacology with psychodynamic psychotherapy, for which she has completed additional advanced training. Her professional interests also include public health, mental health policy, and advocacy, and she currently serves as a Councilor for the Northern California Psychiatric Society (NCPS).

Kalpana Isabel Nathan
Adjunct Clinical Professor, Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences
BioKalpana Nathan, MD is an adjunct clinical professor, Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Stanford University School of Medicine. After completion of residency and research fellowship at Stanford, she served 4 years at the San Francisco General Hospital/UCSF, gaining experience in the areas of substance use, HIV and public health. She worked at Palo Alto VA for more than a couple of decades. She served as chief medical director at Mental Health and Addiction services, El Camino Health for two and a half years, and later was the Executive Medical Director of Custody Behavioral Health at Santa Clara County. She is a certified physician executive. She has worked and taught in various settings, both inpatient and outpatient, as well as private and public sectors. She is board certified in General, Addiction and Forensic Psychiatry, as well as Lifestyle Medicine. Her interests include wellness and self-care for physicians, women's health, health creation and resiliency building for the community. She is a certified meditation teacher, has completed sprint and Olympic triathlons, and enjoys traveling around the world. She received the outstanding community clerkship preceptor award in 2010 and the Arthur L. Bloomfield Award in Recognition of Excellence in the Teaching of Clinical Medicine in 2015 at the Stanford University School of Medicine.

Shaghayegh Navabpour

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsMy research investigates how genetic, transcriptomic, and epigenomic mechanisms shape brain function and contribute to psychiatric disorders, with a special focus on PTSD. By combining large-scale human genomic data with molecular neuroscience approaches, I aim to identify cell-type-specific pathways and therapeutic targets that advance our understanding and treatment of mental health conditions.

Gregory M. Nikogosyan, DO, MBA
Fellow in Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences
BioDr. Nikogosyan is currently the Interventional Psychiatry Fellow at Stanford University School of Medicine. He has prior experience and fellowship training in Brain Injury Medicine and Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry. His clinical work and interests include circuit-based understanding of the illness with focus on diagnosis, biomarkers, and treatment modalities. Prior to his fellowships he served as Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at University of New Mexico School of Medicine where he developed initial interests in interventional psychiatry providing accelerated transcranial magnetic stimulation treatments and further through working in the neuropsychiatry clinic developing further his understanding of the brain through care for complex psychiatric presentations stemming from neurological disorders.
