BioI graduated from Sorbonne University (France) in Molecular and Cellular Biology, and I started my PhD at the Villefranche-sur-Mer marine station, where my research focused on the develoment and evolution of the nervous system in sea urchins, and on the roles of intercellular signaling pathways in this process. As part of my PhD, I spent one year at the Shimoda Marine Research Center (Japan). I am now trying to understand how morphological diversity emerged from gene regulatory networks, using echinoderms and other cool animals like accorn worms. I am broadly fascinated by developmental biology, evolution, and zoological studies of weird animals in general.

Daiana Fornes

BioDaiana Fornes is a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford University, supported by a Maternal & Child Health Research Institute (MCHRI) Postdoctoral Fellowship. Her research centers on reproductive biology and pregnancy disorders, with a particular focus on uterine contractility, preterm labor, and uterine atony. She investigates calcium signaling pathways, including the role of TRPV4 ion channels, to identify novel therapeutic strategies aimed at improving maternal health outcomes.
Daiana earned her PhD from the University of Buenos Aires, where she studied metabolic alterations during pregnancy and their effects on fetal development. Her training has provided her with a strong foundation in translational research, with extensive experience in experimental design, molecular biology, and the analysis of signaling pathways. -
Ines Forrest

BioI completed a dual Master's Degree in Chemistry/Biochemistry (University of Oklahoma) and Organic Chemistry/Chemical Engineering (Sigma-Clermont), as well as a Ph.D. in Chemical and Biological Sciences (The Scripps Research Institute). As a postdoctoral research fellow at Stanford in Prof. Nathanael Gray's lab, I look forward to applying my skills in chemical proteomics, chemistry, and molecular biology to drive impactful research at the interface of chemistry and medicine and develop pioneering solutions to improve human health.

Karin Forssell
Senior Lecturer of Education
BioDr. Karin Forssell is the director of the Learning Design and Technology (LDT) master's program and a Senior Lecturer at the Stanford Graduate School of Education. In her courses, students learn to use research from the learning sciences and learning-centered design processes to create effective digital tools. Dr. Forssell also directs the GSE Makery, a Stanford maker space where students and faculty learn to make, and make to learn, as well as the AI Tinkery, a sandbox for educators. Her current interests include hands-on learning, teacher technology adoption, and the potential for AI to support ethical and effective learning experiences.
Dr. Forssell draws insights from her many years of concurrent work as a teacher on special assignment for technology in the Palo Alto Unified School District. Dr. Forssell earned her BA in Linguistics, MA in Education, and PhD in Learning Sciences and Technology Design at Stanford University. -
Jenna Forsyth
Director, Project Unleaded, Human and Planetary Health
BioJenna Forsyth, PhD, is an interdisciplinary environmental health scientist. She has focused on lead exposure research for 10 years and currently oversees the research portfolio for Project Unleaded - an initiative to identify and mitigate priority sources of lead poisoning globally, with an emphasis in South Asia. Based on her team’s discovery and effort to address lead poisoning from turmeric in Bangladesh, she was named one of the 100 most influential people in Global Health by Time Magazine in 2024. Prior to studying lead contamination and poisoning, she spent nearly 10 years addressing global and environmental health problems from contaminants in the air, water, soil, and food. Her work has been featured in The Economist, The Washington Post, Vox, The Scientist, Undark, Think Global Health, Environmental Health News, Stanford Medicine, Effective Altruism and other outlets. She holds a PhD in Environment and Resources from Stanford University and a Master’s of Science in Engineering and Certificate in Global Health from the University of Washington.

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsDr. Fortmann's interests include population-level (community) prevention of cardiovascular disease, the epidemiology and prevention of chronic diseases, and the effects of the built environment on health. He has conducted research projects addressing tobacco use cessation, tobacco control policy, the role of retail marketing on youth tobacco use, nutrition education, blood pressure control, and lipid disorders.

I also obtained my PhD in Bioacoustics from Aarhus University (Denmark, 2022) and since then I have worked as a postdoctoral researcher under two different contracts with Aarhus University and the University of Auckland (New Zealand).

BioVasiliki Fouka is an Associate Professor of Political Science, a Senior Fellow at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research (SIEPR) and a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER).
Her research interests lie at the intersection of political economy and political behavior. She uses historical and contemporary data to understand what shapes social identities in the short and long run and the implications of that for political and economic behavior and policy design. Major applications of her research include immigrant assimilation, the determinants of prejudice against ethnic and racial minorities, and intergroup conflict.
Her articles have been published in leading journals in political science and economics, including the American Political Science Review, the Annual Review of Political Science and the Review of Economic Studies. -

Detailed characterization of broadly neutralizing human or nonhuman primate monoclonal antibodies against these agents will create high-resolution, functional maps of linear and nonlinear epitopes comprising the major binding sites of both isolate-specific and broadly neutralizing antibodies for rational vaccine design.
