Tsai-Chu Yeh, MD, MTM

BioDr. Tsai-Chu Yeh is a dedicated vitreoretinal surgeon and scientist. During residency, she was honored with the Best Resident Award, and her research has been featured in Medscape News and the American Academy of Ophthalmology, earning numerous awards from the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, American Society of Retina Specialists, Fuji Retina, and the Taiwan Retina and Ocular Inflammation Society.
Beyond advancing science, Dr. Yeh is deeply committed to inspiring the next generation by making translational medicine both accessible and impactful. She received the Best Teacher Award for five consecutive years and was promoted to assistant professor as one of the youngest scholars in her field.
Motivated by a passion to bridge science and medicine, she joined the Mahajan Lab at Stanford University as a postdoctoral scholar, where she developed expertise in molecular genetics, honed her passion for discovery, and embraced the lessons of resilience and perseverance. Her research focuses on identifying protein signatures and molecular mechanisms underlying vitreoretinal diseases, aiming to pave the way for targeted, vision-restoring therapies.
Outside the lab and clinic, Dr. Yeh is a true renaissance woman. She finds joy in reading, music and art, and cherishes time with her family and friends. She also enjoys traveling, tennis, and golf. Her vibrant spirit infuses everything she does—bringing energy, empathy, and excellence to her work as a clinician, scientist, and surgeon. -
Alphonsus Yun Xin Yip
Postdoctoral Scholar, Dermatology
BioDr Alphonsus Yip is a Postdoctoral Research Scholar in the Department of Dermatology at Stanford University and the Stanford Center for Digital Health, mentored by Eleni Linos. His research focuses on dermatology, artificial intelligence, and digital health, with an emphasis on personalized care and remote monitoring. Previously, he trained as a Clinical Research Fellow at St John’s Institute of Dermatology, contributing to clinical trials, digital tool evaluation, and NLP-based analyses of patient experiences in atopic dermatitis. At Stanford, he leads a national survey on healthcare professionals’ perspectives on AI and collaborates on AI-driven approaches for pediatric and rare skin disease detection.

Astrid Nicole Zamora
Postdoctoral Scholar, Epidemiology
BioDr. Zamora's work examines how social and environmental contexts shape the three pillars of health, diet, sleep, and physical activity, and influence chronic disease risk. Her research integrates epidemiologic methods with community-based participatory approaches to translate findings into evidence-based public health strategies. Her goal is to advance chronic disease prevention and promote heart-healthy aging among Latino/a communities and underserved populations.

Kristina Zdantsevich
Postdoctoral Scholar, Cardiovascular Institute
BioKristina Zdantsevich, MD, is a physician-scientist and postdoctoral fellow in Joseph Wu's laboratory at the Stanford Cardiovascular Institute, where she uses induced pluripotent stem cells to model cardiovascular disease.
Kristina earned her MD from Belarusian State Medical University, graduating top of her class. She completed residency in Cardiovascular Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine at the Republican Scientific and Practical Center "Cardiology" in Minsk, the country's leading cardiac referral center. Her clinical work covered high-acuity cardiovascular care, from cardiogenic shock and acute coronary syndromes to perioperative management of coronary bypass, valve, and aortic surgery. In parallel, she practiced general anesthesia and critical care at Minsk Central District Clinical Hospital, including dedicated COVID-19 intensive care from March 2020 through May 2022. For her leadership during the pandemic, she received an award from the Belarusian Minister of Health, given to roughly 1 in 500 physicians nationwide.
She serves as Education Lead for iWISH Talks (Inspiring Women in Science and Healthcare), a global community of more than 500 early-career scientists, and the team received the Stanford Cardiovascular Institute Recognition Award. Outside the lab, she bakes sourdough, swims, practices Pilates, visits museums, and follows AI biology agents. -

Zehua Zeng

BioZehua Zeng is currently a visiting PhD Student at the Qiu lab of Department of Genetics at Stanford. Zehua’s Ph.D. work at University of Science and Technology Beijing with Dr. Hongwu Du and Sun-Yet-sen University with Yuanyan Xiong made critical contributions to the field of multi omics analysis and Agent systems, exemplified by the development of OmicVerse for building one of the largest multi-comics algorithm community.

An Ni Zhang
Postdoctoral Scholar, Stanford Cancer Institute
BioAnni obtained her Ph.D. in Dr. James Johnson and Dr. Janel Kopp's labs at the University of British Columbia. Her Ph.D. work showed that hyperinsulinemia contributes to pancreatic cancer development. Her work also showed that insulin directly acted via the insulin receptors in pancreatic acinar cells to increase digestive enzyme production, thereby generating an inflammatory condition that accelerates neoplastic transformation. She is now working at Diehn lab to investigate the mechanisms of KEAP1 mutation-induced immunotherapy resistance in lung cancer.

Chongyang Zhang

BioDr. Zhang is a Postdoctoral Scholar at RabLab in the cardiopulmonary division. She has a PhD in Pharmacology from University of Rochester, NY. She has research in cardiovascular research and chronobiology published in high impact peer-reviewed journals. She is recipient of honors including predoctoral fellowship from AHA, Travel Grant for Early Career Investigators from Council on Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology. She has served as ad hoc reviewer for more than 40 manuscripts for reputed journals.

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsMy research develops AI systems for biomedicine, with a focus on multimodal learning, foundation models, and self-improving AI. I study how models can integrate medical images, clinical text, EHRs, and biomedical knowledge to support diagnosis, clinical workflows, and scientific discovery, while improving through feedback, evaluation, and human-AI interaction.

Lu Zhang
Postdoctoral Scholar, Endocrinology and Metabolism
BioLu is a postdoctoral research scholar in Dr. Anna Gloyn's Translational Genomics of Diabetes Lab. During her master's and doctoral studies, she focused on epigenomics and single-cell multi-omics analysis, with an emphasis on 3D genomics. Her research included developing Hi-Tag, a chromatin conformation capture technique designed for use with small cell samples. This method provides valuable insights into the organization of chromatin in the cell. She has built strong expertise in combining different types of biological data, including RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, chromatin interaction data, and single-cell data. She has contributed to several research projects as a co-author, including studies that used genome-wide association studies (GWAS) and GTEX data to connect multi-omics data with functional genomics. These experiences have helped her gain a deep understanding of how to integrate different types of genomic data to solve complex biological problems. Currently, Lu is focused on applying her research skills to diabetes.
