Charlene Chow

BioCharlene Chow, PA-C is a Physician Assistant with the Urologic Oncology Department at Stanford Healthcare. She is originally from San Francisco, but obtained her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies at Oregon Health & Science University in 2013 in Portland, OR. She has a background in thoracic surgery working with lung cancer patients at Providence Portland Medical Center from 2013-2015. She then returned to the Bay Area and started with Stanford Urologic Oncology in March 2016.
She is the sole Urologic Oncology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) at the Cancer Center South Bay (CCSB) and specializes in urologic cancers including those of the bladder, prostate, kidney, ureter, testicle, and penis. Aside from seeing both new and return patients on her own and alongside physicians, she is also well versed in performing outpatient procedures such as prostate biopsies, cystoscopies, and bladder cancer treatments.
Her clinical interest lies in quality improvement. She has successfully completed the Clinical Excellent & Leadership Training (CEPT) program at Stanford, and is constantly involving herself and others in ongoing process improvement projects.
When she is not at work, she enjoys dance parties with her two young children, cooking, exercising, and spending time outdoors. -

This includes developing and leading the execution of major strategic initiatives and ensuring foundational operations are rigorous and effectively support the tripartite missions of Education, Research and Patient Care. I am a member of the Dean's leadership team and a representative of the School of Medicine in a variety of forums throughout Stanford and externally
My role encompasses responsibilities as Associate Dean, Industry Relations and Digital Health, In this capacity, I lead Stanford Medicine’s Office of Industry Relations and Digital Health (IRDH) whose mission is to foster relationships that will promote discovery, accelerate the use of technologies that advance human health, and translate today’s breakthroughs into tomorrow’s standard of care. IRDH serves as the front door for organizations interested in exploring a strategic relationship with Stanford Medicine. The work is part of Stanford Medicine's Strategy Team, led by Priya Singh.
I also co-lead the Stanford Medicine Catalyst program with Dr. Euan Ashley. We focus on discovering, supporting and propelling healthcare innovation from within the Stanford community. She studied General Biology at University of California at San Diego, and completed her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Western University of Health Sciences. Jessica has spent nearly her entire career in the field of Thoracic Surgery, with close to 10 years of inpatient and outpatient clinical experience. BioLauren graduated from the Stanford Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies program in the Spring of 2022. While in the program, she conducted a capstone study investigating the psychiatric impact of COVID-19 on older adults with depression as they navigated the healthcare system, which she presented as a podium speaker of Stanford HEALTHCARE CON in June of 2021. During PA school, she also served as president of Stanford University Physician Assistant Student Association and co-president of the Women and Medicine student group which worked to provide mentorship to women in medicine and help recognize and combat gender disparities in medicine. She was also the inaugural student to take the Healthcare Administration and Leadership elective with Clair Kuriakose, the Executive Director of Stanford Health Care's Center for Advanced Practice. Before attending PA school, she worked as an EMT in San Francisco, volunteered in the ER at Children’s Hospital in Oakland, volunteered as a TA for Stanford’s EMT program, and helped conduct research with the Ashley Cardiovascular Lab at Stanford. She earned her B.S. in Management Science and Engineering at Stanford University, where she also enjoyed one year of varsity track and three years of club soccer. During her undergraduate experience she was CEO of Governor’s Corning Dining Society, a student-run non-profit dining service for over 260 undergraduate students. Presently, she is working as a hospitalist APP at Tri-Valley and is driven to help expand APP utilization in hospital medicine.
