Master of Public Policy Student, Public PolicyBioSydney is a PhD student in the Oceans department, interested in using an interdisciplinary approach to explore the biophysical interactions of marine migratory species with their environment, and their responses to ecological and anthropogenic stressors. She is particularly interested in using what we know about various environmental variables and large-scale climate events to further predict and understand changes to the migratory patterns of marine species. Sydney holds a BS in Marine Science and BS in Experimental Psychology from the University of South Carolina.

BioYinbin Han is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Management Science and Engineering at the Stanford University. Before joining Stanford, Yinbin was a Ph.D. student in the Department of Finance and Risk Engineering at the New York University from 2024 - 2025 and in the Epstein Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Southern California from 2021 - 2024. Yinbin is fortunate to be co-advised by Prof. Renyuan Xu (Stanford) and Prof. Meisam Razaviyayn (USC). Yinbin obtained his B.S. in Mathematics from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, where he was advised by Prof. Zizhuo Wang. Yinbin's research interests include diffusion models, reinforcement learning, stochastic control and nonconvex optimization.

BioElizabeth Finlayson Harris is a PhD student in Curriculum and Teacher Education at Stanford University, specializing in science, engineering, and technology education with a minor in Feminist, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Her research examines epistemology, affect, and feminist perspectives in science education, with particular attention to pre-service teacher learning. She has published in Science Education, Emotion, Space and Society, and Studying Teacher Education, and her current projects explore humor, laughter, and epistemic affect in science classrooms. BioRhana Hashemi is a Ph.D. student in Social Psychology conducting social-belonging and stereotype threat research with Dr. Greg Walton. She is focused on improving the lives of students who use drugs by understanding and repairing the relationship they form with their schools and authority figures. Rhana hopes to design interventions that promote connection and reduce bias, as alternatives to school suspension. She holds a M.S in Community Health Prevention Research from Stanford School of Medicine and a B.A in Social Welfare with honors from UC Berkeley. Previous research has focused on cognitive dissonance theory, prevention messaging, social media, and adolescent substance use.

Karolina Hasiec

BioKarolina’s research at King’s College London focused on neuroimaging and on how analytical methods can be tailored to the unique characteristics of different imaging tools. At Stanford, she is supporting research that investigates whether myelin plasticity can serve as a tractable therapeutic target to slow the progression of SYNGAP1-related intellectual disability - a rare neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by severe, intractable epilepsy, significant cognitive impairment, and recognized as one of the leading genetic causes of autism. Through this work, she contributes to advancing understanding of how maladaptive myelination may underlie disease progression and to exploring new strategies for therapeutic intervention.
