Amanda Pratt

BioAmanda Pratt is a Ph.D. candidate in Management Science at Stanford University, where she is part of the Center for Work, Technology, and Organization. Her research interests include how organizations must change to adopt technology – particularly data and ML-based technologies - and how technology changes them. Prior to returning to school, Amanda was a Principal at Keystone Strategy, a technology-focused consulting firm. Amanda holds a bachelor's degree in engineering from Olin College, a master's degree in engineering from UC Berkeley, and an MBA from Harvard University.

Greg Priest
BioI am a PhD candidate (ABD) in History of Science at Stanford. I focus on the history and philosophy of biology and the historical sciences, with particular interests in Charles Darwin and in the sciences of complex systems.
Before coming to Stanford, I was a lawyer, serving as a law clerk to Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall and then representing Silicon Valley technology companies. I left the law for the software business, first as CFO of a publicly-traded software company, next as founding CEO of a software start-up, and finally as Chairman and CEO of a global, publicly-traded internet education company.
I did my undergraduate work at Princeton and got my law degree at Stanford. I also have a Masters of Liberal Arts from Stanford. I am married, have two children and one grandchild and am an avid hiker, skier, and cook. -
Claudette Proctor

Head Coach, Women's Club Soccer, Recreation Competitive SportsBioClaudette Proctor was born in Los Angeles, California. She double majored in Earth and Oceanographic Science and Hispanic Studies at Bowdoin College, graduating in 2021. She is now pursuing her doctoral studies in the Earth System Science department at the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability. She is passionate about investigating the role and response of phytoplankton in polar regions, particularly in the context of Arctic amplification, which resulted in accelerated warming (up to four times faster) in the Arctic relative to the rate experienced by the rest of the globe as a result of anthropogenic climate change. Her research leverages a combination of fieldwork, experimental work, remote sensing, and modeling to better understand how changes in sea ice impact primary productivity, carbon cycling, and the entire Arctic ecosystem.
Claudette also teaches Introduction to the Marine Environment at Stanford and is committed to reducing barriers to student success. She is particularly interested in enhancing learning using evidence-based teaching strategies and prioritizing intention in course design and implementation. She also coaches club soccer at Stanford and enjoys arts and crafts. -
Adrienne Propp
Ph.D. Student in Computational and Mathematical Engineering, admitted Autumn 2021
BioI am a fourth year PhD student in ICME (the Institute for Computational and Mathematical Engineering). Prior to Stanford, I was working as a technical analyst at the RAND Corporation where I spent most of my time designing microsimulations and other models to investigate topics in healthcare, education, disaster relief, and international relations.
My research interests lie at the intersection of mathematics, data, and modeling, which has led me to a focus on scientific machine learning (SciML). Specifically, I am working on developing new graph-based surrogate modeling methods for low-data regimes. I am grateful to be advised by Daniel Tartakovsky, During my PhD, I have also collaborated with Jenny Suckale to model volcanic lava fountaining, and Susan Athey and Sanath Kumar Krishnamurthy to design improved algorithms for contextual bandits.
Past research projects have ranged from computational models of the heart to inverse modeling to predict satellite performance. -

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsIn collaboration with Dr. Meera Sankar, Medical Director of LPCH NICU and President-Elect of the California Association of Neonatologists, we are exploring the implications of implementing Transcutaneous versus serum measurements of Bilirubin for diagnosis and management of Hyperbilirubinemia. We are particularly interested in patient care benefits, cost/benefit analyses as well as implications for global health settings.

Emilee Quezada
Ph.D. Student in History, admitted Autumn 2026
BioEmilee Quezada is a first-year Ph.D. student in history, focusing on modern Latin American history, with an emphasis on twentieth-century Central America. Emilee is particularly interested in how student-led social movements and uprisings shaped revolutionary agendas, political transitions, migration, and transnational networks.
Prior to entering Stanford’s Ph.D. program, she earned a B.A. in History from UC Berkeley in 2024, where her research examined how a female combatant and commander in the Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front (FMLN) established political legitimacy in post-war El Salvador. -
Krishna Raghavan
