Siavash Moghadami

BioSiavash Moghadami is a Ph.D. student in Chemical and Systems Biology at Stanford University School of Medicine, co-mentored by Professors Carolyn Bertozzi and Longzhi Tan. His work sits at the intersection of chemical biology, neuroscience, artificial intelligence (AI), and aging, with a long-term vision of building programmable brain–body physiology for healthy longevity so that fewer families have to watch their loved ones age in frailty.
Before Stanford, Siavash earned his B.Sc./M.Sc. in Biochemistry and Chemical Biology from the University of California, San Diego, graduating summa cum laude with highest departmental distinction and honors.
A proud immigrant pursuing the American dream, Siavash feels a profound sense of love and gratitude for the United States, which gave him a new home and a path into higher education and scientific discovery. His research on brain–body physiology and healthy longevity is, in many ways, his way of giving back—honoring the opportunities he found in America and working to protect the health and independence of his own and others’ loved ones. -
Aadhityaa Mohanavelu
Ph.D. Student in Civil and Environmental Engineering, admitted Autumn 2023
BioAadhityaa Mohanavelu is a PhD student at Osman Lab, currently working on quantifying global water challenges and developing equitable water infrastructure systems. His research uses tools and techniques from diverse disciplines, including data-driven computational modeling, artificial intelligence, qualitative methodology, and sensor-based experiments, to better comprehend water problems and develop innovative solutions. He has a strong background in modeling hydro-climatic systems, studying resilient water infrastructures, and quantifying environmental contamination hazards. He loves music and enjoys traveling!
Aadhityaa is a holder of the 2023 Quad Fellowship (inaugural cohort). -
Mercedes Montemayor Elosua
Doctor of Musical Arts Student, Musical Arts
BioMercedes Montemayor is a Mexican composer, multidisciplinary artist, and doctor of musical arts candidate at Stanford University. Her works manifest as electronic and electroacoustic music, sound Art, sound installation, and performance Art. She composes multichannel pieces for the stage and the listening room at the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA), from 3-7th order ambisonics. Also a film lover, she actively participates in the sound design and compositions of short films— and is now entering the world of scoring the feature film with LOUWRIEN WIJERS: from Competition to Compassion (2025). Her career launched with her collaboration with Mexican textile artist Miriam Medrez, in her intermedia installation Jardín Onírico (2022), followed by an internship at an Architectural Acoustics firm, and a performance in Mutek (2023) in Museo Anahuacall, in Mexico City with her debut album Volumina (2023).She studied Audio Engineering at Tecnológico De Monterrey and is in love with the process of mixing and mastering her work. Recently she's been reading Kierkegaard which is a considerable influence in her upcoming works, and continues to experiment with space to voice her experience as an experiencer.

Karli Moore

BioKarli Moore, a member of the Lumbee Tribe, is from Prospect, North Carolina, and is pursuing a PhD in environment and resources at Stanford School of Earth, Energy, and Environmental Sciences. She earned bachelor's degrees in chemistry and agricultural business management from NC State University, master's degrees in agricultural economics (University of Arkansas) and rural development (Ghent University), and a graduate certificate in food policy from Arizona State University. Karli aspires to advance food sovereignty and economic development for indigenous communities through climate-smart agriculture that centers traditional ecological knowledge. She was a biodiversity coordinator at BASF, an economic fellow at the Indigenous Food and Agriculture Initiative, and a program officer at the Native American Agriculture Fund. Her work has helped guide the investment of more than $40 million for Native food systems over the past two years. She is a Udall Scholar, Park Scholar, and Mathews Medal recipient.
