He is a graduate in Physics from MIT and the University of Maryland, and studied Art History at Wellesley College. He was Chief Scientist of the American arm of the $15B international Ricoh Company and Rambus Fellow at Rambus, Inc. He has held faculty positions in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Computation & Mathematical Engineering, Neuroscience, Psychology, and Art and Art History variously at Wellesley and Swarthmore Colleges, Clark, Boston, and Stanford Universities, and the Technical University of Vienna. He is a Fellow of IEEE, OSA, SPIE, IS&T, IAPR, IARIA, AAIA, IAII, and a Senior Life Member of ACM and was a 2023 Leonardo@Djerassi Fellow. He holds 64 US patents, and has published over 220 peer-reviewed scholarly articles and nine books/proceedings volumes, including "Pattern classification" (2nd ed.), "Seeing the light: Optics in nature, photography, color, vision, and holography," "HAL's Legacy: 2001's computer as dream and reality," and "Pixels & paintings: Foundations of computer-assisted connoisseurship." -

Savanna Elizabeth Stromberg

BioSavanna Stromberg, BS, is an Associate Project Coordinator at Stanford CDI, who will be working across projects on C-DIAS, CMHIS, and RASC. She recently received her BS in Psychology from the University of Washington, where she conducted research on trauma and mental health outcomes in the Honors Psychology program. With a strong interest in substance use interventions and mental health, Savanna is eager to expand her expertise in implementation research. At Stanford CDI, Savanna supports multi-project management, helps build and organize data, and assists with the development, communication, and design of research findings to internal and external audiences.

Staff, Medicine - Med/Infectious DiseasesBioAmy Sturt is a physician scientist with an interest in women's global health and the intersection of Neglected Tropical Diseases, sexually transmitted infection and HIV vulnerability. Her work explores diagnostics for genital schistosomiasis and the integration of female self-sampling with the evaluation of reproductive tract infections in Zambian women.
Amy holds a PhD and DTMH from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, an MD from Georgetown University, and completed her Infectious Diseases fellowship at Stanford University where she is a Global Health Faculty Fellow. -

Diana Suedbeck

BioDiana serves as the Assistant Director of New Student Programs in VPUE's Academic Advising. In her role, she is responsible for implementing the Approaching Stanford program, which provides support to first-year and transfer students as they transition to undergraduate life at Stanford. Being one of the first points of contact for these incoming students, Diana is focused on making sure they feel well-equipped to begin their academic experience at the university. Working alongside her New Student Programs team, Diana also supports the implementation of New Student Orientation for incoming students each fall.
Prior to Stanford, Diana worked in the non-profit sector after receiving a Sociology degree from Bethel University, a small liberal arts college in St. Paul, Minnesota. Outside of her organizational development work, Diana's passion for higher education grew as she coached women's lacrosse for Bethel's club team. -
