Staff, Psychiatry and Behavioral SciencesBioDr. Mills-Finnerty received her PhD in Psychology from Rutgers University, with a focus on cognitive neuroscience. She completed a MIRECC Advanced Fellowship at the Palo Alto VA and Stanford Dept. Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, studying mood disorders using neuroimaging and neurostimulation. She was then awarded a VA Career Development Award to study attention and reward function in mood disorders. She joined the Women’s Operational Military Exposures Network as a Research Scientist in 2024. She is interested in health disparities that impact neurological and mental health in women Veterans, and their relationship to Military Environmental Exposures.
She has authored multiple award-winning papers, including “Affective Neuroscience: Applications for Sexual Medicine Research and Clinical Practice,” proposing a novel treatment schema for sexual trauma based on affective neuroscience, which was awarded the Bronze Prize for Best Paper by the International Society for Sexual Medicine. -
Jennifer Milne

BioJennifer is a scientist with more than a decade's experience in identifying research needs in energy and shaping the energy research landscape at Stanford. Jennifer leads the Advanced Research Projects at the Precourt Institute for Energy, working with the Director of Precourt and other stakeholders to foster energy research to reduce greenhouse gases and enable the energy transition. In 2023, she joined the technology team of the Sustainability Accelerator, as a key team member tasked with identifying solutions with potential for impact across broad sustainability challenges.
Jennifer is a technical resource for energy related and carbon removal projects across the University and an advisor in the bioenergy area - this foundational experience she gained during her time as an energy analyst with the Global Climate and Energy Project. There, from 2007 onwards, she learned about energy supply, conversion, and exergy destruction. Jennifer led the bioenergy area of the portfolio and contributed more broadly to the development of a fundamental energy research portfolio across all energy areas. Prior to joining Global Climate and Energy Project she was a post-doctoral scholar at the Carnegie Institution for Science, Department of Plant Biology, at Stanford University. Jennifer is a biochemist and plant biologist, with extensive expertise in carbohydrate chemistry. Her thesis work included the discovery of a new role for polysaccharides in guard cell wall function. Jennifer earned a Ph.D. in Biology from the University of York, U.K. and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry (First Class Honors) from the University of Stirling, U.K. -

BioA native of Arizona, I studied chemistry at Mesa Community College and Arizona State University, receiving my bachelor’s degree in 2000. I then did graduate work in chemistry at SUNY Stony Brook and Brown University, eventually specializing in time-resolved studies of the dynamics of chemical reactions. Following my interest in combining chemistry with ultrafast lasers, I did postdoctoral research at Princeton and Brown before joining SLAC as a staff scientist in 2011.

Perla has over 15 years of cumulative experience in student services from positions at the Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS), the University of Texas at Austin, the University of California at Santa Cruz, and Stanford University. In all these roles, she has used her own experience as a first-generation college graduate to help students navigate academic systems and advise a diverse student population. In her free time, Perla enjoys watching movies, going to concerts and music festivals, hiking to lakes and waterfalls, and playing rummikub. -
Pardis Miri

BioPardis Miri, PhD, is a Research Scientist and former Postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford University, where she develops technology aimed at improving mental well-being. She holds a PhD in Computer Science and has extensive training in affective science under Professor James J. Gross. Pardis leads a multidisciplinary team (http://wehab.stanford.edu
) conducting clinical and real-world studies to assess how wearable technologies can reduce stress and enhance glymphatic flow in early-stage Alzheimer’s patients.
During her postdoctoral work, Pardis served as the principal investigator of FAR, a multi-disciplinary project to design, build, and evaluate an end-to-end wearable system for children with emotion dysregulation, including those diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. FAR aims to support more adaptive emotion-regulation strategies through a combination of systems design and behavioral research.
Pardis is advised by Professors Michael Snyder, Keith Marzullo, and James J. Gross, and collaborates with Professor Antonio Hardan of the Stanford School of Medicine on research involving children with autism spectrum disorder. -

The AAS team focuses on the creation, integration, and deployment of web-based solutions for the Stanford University School of Medicine. We make use of a variety of hardware, software, and cloud technologies and partner closely with teams across TDS, the School of Medicine, and the University. We manage development, testing, and production environments, perform process mappings, set architecture standards, and provide consultations to teams looking to do software development or use SaaS solutions.

BioDr. Grace Mitchell was a ballet dancer before college and went into medicine after studying Nutritional Biochemistry and Metabolism. She partners with patients to include nutrition, exercise, and medication recommendations for individualized care. Osteopathic training has given her an extra set of tools for treating musculoskeletal pain and other structural problems. She enjoys every aspect of Family Medicine, especially maternity care, diabetes, and pediatrics. For fun, she enjoys Spanish conversation, salsa and swing dancing, board games, and trying new cuisines.

Masashi Miyauchi
Basic Life Research Scientist, Medicine - Med/Hematology
BioMasashi Miyauchi, MD, PhD, is a physician-scientist specializing in hematology, oncology, immunology, and stem cell biology, with over a decade of experience in clinical hematology and oncology. Dr. Miyauchi's academic career commenced at Kyoto University, where he obtained his MD in Medicine. He furthered his expertise with a PhD in Internal Medicine from The University of Tokyo, Graduate School of Medicine. Following his comprehensive clinical training and professional appointments at The University of Tokyo Hospital, Dr. Miyauchi embarked on a postdoctoral journey at Stanford University in the Nakauchi lab, starting in July 2019.
Dr. Miyauchi's clinical training is extensive, including a Senior Residency in Internal Medicine and a Clinical Fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at The University of Tokyo Hospital. This period was complemented by his participation in a Cancer Professional Training Plan. After completing his clinical fellowship, Dr. Miyauchi has served in various pivotal roles at The University of Tokyo Hospital and The University of Tokyo. His positions as a clinically-focused Project Assistant Professor and Assistant Professor in the Department of Hematology and Oncology have enabled him to contribute significantly to pioneering research and education for the next wave of medical professionals.
In his PhD research, Dr. Miyauchi specialized in the disease modeling of cancers and cancer stem cells, employing cancer patient-specific induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). His work with iPSCs notably includes scalable ex vivo manufacturing of human neutrophils. In his postdoctoral research under the guidance of Dr. Hiromitsu Nakauchi in Genetics at Stanford, Dr. Miyauchi has been concentrating on developing a stable hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) expansion system in both mouse and human models. His research is focused on exploring the potential applications of this expansion system, underlining his commitment to advancing the fields of stem cell biology, regenerative medicine and oncology.
