Eric Lin

Dr. Lin studies how AI systems should be assessed when they interact with patients, clinicians, or psychologically vulnerable users. His work addresses the limitations of benchmark-driven evaluation and the need for clinically meaningful approaches to AI evaluation that incorporate psychiatric expertise, real-world clinical complexity, and post-deployment risk. His broader interests include psychopathology, personality assessment, psychoanalytic and psychodynamic models of mind, and the translation of complex clinical judgment into rigorous evaluation frameworks for emerging technologies.
Dr. Lin completed psychiatry residency at Yale University, where he trained in the Neuroscience Research Training Program, and later completed a medical informatics fellowship through VA Boston, with research at Harvard Medical School/McLean Hospital on computational and digital approaches to psychiatric phenotyping. He is board certified in psychiatry and clinical informatics. His clinical and teaching work in addiction psychiatry grounds his interest in psychiatric complexity, risk assessment, care navigation, and pragmatic implementation of AI tools in health care. He is interested in collaborations across psychiatry, computer science, human-centered AI, health policy, digital mental health, and responsible technology development. -

Frank Robert Lin

BioFrank R. Lin, MD, PhD is an otologic surgeon and epidemiologist who has translated his experiences caring for adults with hearing loss into public health research and policy. These efforts include establishing the impact of hearing loss and hearing interventions on dementia risk and other health outcomes through the ACHIEVE study, collaborating with and testifying before policy makers to secure federal passage and enactment of the U.S. Over-the-Counter Hearing Aid Act of 2017, and launching the Hearing Number awareness initiative. Lin is a former member of both the Board on Health Sciences Policy and the Forum on Aging, Disability, and Independence at the National Academies. Lin is also a Professor at Johns Hopkins University and on the clinical team at Apple.

Grant Lin
Clinical Assistant Professor, Pediatric Neurology
BioDr. Grant L. Lin is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Neurology and, by courtesy, in Pediatrics at Stanford University with a focus on pediatric neuropalliative care. He received his B.S. in Biochemistry and Neuroscience at Indiana University-Bloomington. He subsequently received his M.D. and Ph.D. at Stanford University, where he conducted research on pediatric brain tumors under the mentorship of Dr. Michelle Monje. He completed his Child Neurology residency at Stanford University, where he served as an education chief resident. He then completed his Hospice and Palliative Medicine fellowship at Stanford University prior to joining the faculty.
Dr. Lin sees patients as both a child neurologist and a pediatric palliative care physician. His clinical interests include pioneering the development of pediatric neuropalliative care as a subspecialty that focuses on holistically supporting children with serious neurologic diseases and their families. He also has research and educational interests at the interface of neuroethics, disability ethics, and neuroprognostication. -
Janice Lin
Clinical Assistant Professor, Medicine - Immunology & Rheumatology
BioDr. Lin specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of rheumatologic conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, myositis, gout, and seronegative spondyloarthropathies. She received additional training in autoimmune skin diseases and has a special clinical and research interest for psoriasis/psoriatic arthritis, dermatomyositis, cutaneous lupus/systemic lupus. She leads a combined rheumatology-dermatology clinic with Dr. Matthew Lewis in the dermatology department to take care patients collaboratively. Dr. Lin is a graduate of USSONAR (Ultrasound School of North American Rheumatologists) program and performs diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound evaluation and interventions. In addition to her clinical work, she leads the quality improvement effort for the division and her most recent projects are focused on patient-reported outcome in rheumatoid arthritis and vaccinations for patients in the rheumatology clinic.

BioI am a postdoctoral researcher at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where I work with Michele Gelfand on cross-cultural research examining trust, cooperation, and social norms. I received my PhD in Social Psychology from Beijing Normal University and previously held a postdoctoral position at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. My research investigates how cultural contexts shape trust and cooperative behavior across societies. I use methods such as cross-country diary studies, longitudinal designs, and large-scale surveys to examine cultural dynamics at both individual and societal levels.

Kathie S Lin
Clinical Associate Professor, Adult Neurology
BioDr. Kathie Lin is a Clinical Associate Professor of Neurology and Neurological Sciences at Stanford University. She is board certified in Neurology and Neuromuscular Medicine after completing her residency at the Harvard Neurology Program at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston and advanced fellowship training at Stanford. She practices both Neuromuscular Medicine and Comprehensive Neurology in Emeryville and Palo Alto. She has a particular interest in the diagnosis and management of neuromuscular disease including neuromuscular junction disorders, motor neuron disease, myopathy, and focal neuropathy.
Dr Lin is passionate about medical education and developing a practical framework for teaching neurology and neurophysiology to residents. She is an Assistant Program Director of the Stanford Adult Neurology Residency Program, a core preceptor in the Neurology Residency Continuity Clinic, and the Neuromuscular Division teaching lead, responsible for arranging neuromuscular education for neurology residents. She has won the Lysia Forno Award for excellence in resident teaching in the Neurology Department in 2021 and 2026. -
Kenneth Michael Lin, MD

BioDr. Kenneth Lin is an orthopaedic surgeon and clinical assistant professor at Stanford University School of Medicine. He specializes in sports medicine. Dr. Lin has clinical expertise in minimally invasive and reconstructive techniques of the knee, shoulder, and elbow. As a former college athlete, he understands the demands and challenges facing athletes of all ages and competition levels.
Following his undergraduate studies at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Dr. Lin attended medical school at Washington University in St. Louis. He attended residency at the renowned Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. Upon graduation, Dr. Lin received the Thomas P. Sculco Award, selected by hospital staff, for exemplary service and exceptional core values. In addition, his peers selected him to receive the Jean C. McDaniel Award for leadership, professionalism, and ethics in patient care. As a Sports Medicine fellow at Stanford, Dr. Lin received special training in complex knee, shoulder, elbow, and hip conditions.
He treats chronic conditions, sports injuries, and traumatic injuries affecting the arm and leg. Dr. Lin has expertise in treating complex knee, shoulder, and elbow conditions, as well as injuries of the hip and ankle. He specializes in joint preservation, tendon/ligament repair and reconstruction, cartilage restoration, and fracture care. Dr. Lin uses nonsurgical, arthroscopic and traditional open surgery techniques. He takes a minimally invasive approach to achieve the greatest recovery with the least invasive treatment.
Dr. Lin has academic research interests in the clinical, basic science, and biomechanical foundations of injury, healing, and rehabilitation. He continues to participate in clinical outcomes research and laboratory research. His research focus is developing new surgical techniques and harnessing emerging technologies for both surgical and nonsurgical treatment. He also has special interest in understanding the biological basis of healing and regeneration of tendons, ligaments, and cartilage.
He has presented at numerous regional, national, and international conferences. He has authored or co-authored over 30 peer-reviewed publications and textbook chapters.
Dr. Lin is a Bay Area native who enjoys surfing, traveling, and being outdoors. He loves coaching, playing, and watching sports. Dr. Lin has provided medical coverage for various types of sporting events. He has also served as a team physician for multiple high schools and junior colleges. Dr. Lin previously served as the assistant team physician for Stanford University Athletics. -
Margaret Chin-Chin Lin

BioDr. Margaret Lin is a board certified radiologist with subspecialty training in thoracic and cardiovascular imaging. Dr. Lin specializes in diseases affecting the lungs and airways, including cancer, infection, and interstitial and inhalational lung diseases. Current Research and Scholarly InterestsMy interests are in novel technologies to investigate in vivo biology and improve molecular medicines. These include the use of viral proteases and protease inhibitors to control protein function in vivo, the invention of cofactor-independent photoswitchable proteins for investigating signaling dynamics and controlling gene editing in vivo, the development of fully genetically encoded voltage indicators, and a new approach of treating cancer by rewiring oncogenic pathways to cell ablation.

Mike is also co-founder and General Partner at Dangerous Ventures. Dangerous invests in early-stage startups building a more sustainable and resilient future. Dangerous focuses on scalable systems-transforming solutions that empower people, the planet, and society to be more resilient and thrive in a rapidly changing environment.
Prior to working in venture capital, he was Founder and CEO of Fenix International, a renewable energy and fintech startup that currently powers over 15.5 million people across nine countries. He raised over $45M in venture capital and venture debt, developed patented energy technologies, and forged strategic partnerships with Google and the world’s largest mobile telecoms, including Vodafone, Orange, and MTN, to deliver life-changing energy to frontier markets. Fenix grew to over 350 employees and was successfully acquired in April 2018 by Engie, one of the world’s largest utilities.
Mike believes that business can be a vehicle for positive change, combining his passion for social and environmental prosperity with design thinking, business strategy, and new product development. He is a serial entrepreneur and worked at Makani Power (acquired by Google) and Squid Labs, a startup studio (Instructables, acquired by Autodesk). He has worked with Apple on climate change and environmental technologies, Al Gore on the “Inconvenient Truth” presentation, and lectured on green design and entrepreneurship at Stanford and Yale.
Mike has six patents, has received over $1.7M in grants from the US Environmental Protection Agency and UK Government, awards from the Rockefeller Foundation, Aspen Institute, BusinessWeek, and Popular Science, and has been featured in The New York Times, Bloomberg, Forbes, Wired, The Guardian, and others. Mike earned an MS and BS in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University.
