Visiting Scholar, Orthopaedic SurgeryBioDr. Chayut Chaiperm is an attending orthopaedic surgeon in the Division of Orthopaedics at Bhumibol Adulyadej Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand. He earned his MD from Chulalongkorn University (2015), completed orthopaedic residency training (2020), and pursued fellowship training in adult hip and knee reconstruction (2021). His clinical interests include adult hip and knee reconstruction, with a focus on robotic-assisted surgery and technology-enabled techniques to optimize patient outcomes.
Dr. Chaiperm is a member of the Royal College of Orthopaedic Surgeons of Thailand (RCOST) and the Thai Hip and Knee Society (THKS), and he recently became a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS).

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsMy HFSP project is focussed on understanding the birth, life and death of marine snow. A predictive understanding of the hydrodynamic, biotic, and non-equilibrium aspects of this sinking microbial ecosystem is a notoriously challenging and globally relevant problem and is the central theme of my research at Stanford University. I’m applying my training as a physicist to shed light on the dynamical aspects of microbial life in the ocean, and to contribute insights that can help mitigate the negative impact of human activities on global climate; something I feel strongly about.

Antara Chakravarty
Postdoctoral Scholar, Microbiology and Immunology
BioAntara Chakravarty is a postdoctoral scholar in the laboratory of Dr. Priscilla Yang at Stanford Medicine, where she develops small-molecule-based targeted protein degradation strategies against viral proteins. Her work focuses on understanding how viral proteins interface with host cellular pathways, including mechanisms that influence antiviral signaling responses. She is also interested in virus-induced remodeling of host membrane lipids and studies these processes using the hepatitis C virus replicase complex as a model system.
Antara received her doctoral training in molecular virology in the laboratory of Dr. A. L. N. Rao at the University of California, Riverside, where she discovered key roles for viral capsid dynamics in the pathogenicity and infectivity of multipartite bromoviruses. Her emerging research interests focus on developing chemically controllable tools to investigate host immune signaling pathways. -

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsResearch
I use stable and radiogenic isotopes to understand Earth system history. These studies examine the link between climate, tectonics, biological, and surface processes. Projects include: 1) examining the terrestrial climate history of the Earth focusing on periods of time in the past that had CO 2-levels similar to the present and to future projections; and 2) addressing how the chemical weathering of the Earth's crust affects both the long- and short-term carbon cycle. Field areas for these studies are in the Cascades, Rocky Mountains, Sierra Nevada, the European Alps, Tibet and the Himalaya and the Southern Alps of New Zealand.
International Collaborations
Much of the research that I do has an international component. Specifically, I have collaborations with: 1) the Senckenberg Biodiversity and Climate Research Center in Frankfurt Germany as a Humboldt Fellow and 2) the Chinese University of Geosciences in Bejiing China where I collaborate with Professor Yuan Gao.
Teaching
I teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate level in isotope biogeochemistry, Earth system history, and the relationship between climate, surface processes and tectonics.

Monique Chambers, MD, MSL
Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery
BioDr. Monique Chambers is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon at Stanford Health Care. She is also an assistant professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Division of Foot and Ankle Surgery at Stanford University School of Medicine.
Dr. Chambers specializes in treating complex foot and ankle conditions, including those that affect dancers, post-traumatic injuries and complications, deformities, and degenerative joint diseases. She focuses on restoring function and preserving limbs whenever possible, utilizing minimally invasive techniques and limb salvage procedures. Dr. Chambers is committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care through multispecialty collaboration.
Dr. Chambers’ research involves innovations in surgery and medical education, health care outcomes, and complexities in medicine and law. Her work explores musculoskeletal conditions, as well as psychosocial and structural factors that influence quality and outcomes in residency training and surgical care. As director of research and pathway initiative outcomes at Nth Dimensions, a national nonprofit advancing access to surgical specialties, Dr. Chambers has mentored dozens of students and trainees.
Dr. Chambers has extensively published her findings in peer-reviewed journals, including Arthroplasty Today, Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Journal of Surgical Education, and Journal of Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities. Her dedication to inclusive patient care and education has earned her national recognition, including the National Minority Quality Forum’s 40 Under 40 in Minority Health Award.
Dr. Chambers is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, and the National Medical Association. She is also a member of the Christian Medical and Dental Associations, the Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society, the Limb Lengthening and Reconstruction Society, and the J. Robert Gladden Orthopaedic Society. -
