BioVarsha began her academic journey with a BS in Speech and Hearing from the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH) in Mysuru, India. She earned her Master’s degree in Audiology in 2018, with a thesis focused on temporal processing and speech perception in noisy environments. She completed her doctoral degree in May 2024, working with Dr. Bharadwaj on age-related effects on temporal processing and speech perception, and with Dr. Heinz on the effects of peripheral hearing damage on cortical auditory responses. Currently, she is a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford University with Dr. Matthew Fitzgerald, where she is developing pipelines for handling large clinical datasets and applying machine learning to enhance clinical diagnosis and management.

Ronjon Nag, PhD

BioRonjon Nag is an inventor, teacher and entrepreneur. He is an Adjunct Professor in Genetics at the Stanford School of Medicine, becoming a Stanford Distinguished Careers Institute Fellow in 2016. He teaches AI, Genes, Ethics, Longevity Science and Venture Capital. He is a founder and advisor/board member of multiple start-ups and President of the R42 Group, a venture capital firm which invests in, and creates, AI and Longevity companies. As an AI pioneer of smartphones and app stores, his companies have been sold to Apple, BlackBerry, and Motorola. More recently he has worked on the intersection of AI and Biology. He has been awarded the IET Mountbatten Medal by the Institution of Engineering and Technology, the 2021 IEEE-SCV Outstanding Engineer Award, the $1m Verizon Powerful Answers Award, the 2023 COGX AI Lifetime Achievement Award, the 2023 MIT Great Dome Award, and was the 2024 Inductee in the Silicon Valley Engineering Hall of Fame. Professor Nag has a Ph.D from Cambridge, an M.S from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.Sc. from Birmingham in the UK. He has numerous interests in the intersection of AI and Healthcare including being CEO of Agemica.ai working on creating a vaccine for aging.

Dhriti Nagar

BioPremature birth is a leading cause of developmental and neuropsychiatric disorders in children. One of the factors causing these defects is lowered levels of available oxygen (hypoxia) in the newborn due to immature lungs. My research focuses on understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying hypoxia-induced developmental disorders of the nervous system due to preterm birth.

BioHimaja Nagireddy (she/her) is a PhD student in Health Policy at Stanford. She previously served as a Program Manager at the Kennedy Krieger Institute, an affiliate of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, in Baltimore, MD.
Prior to this, Himaja served as the Deputy Associate Policy Director for First Lady Dr. Jill Biden at the White House, Briefings Manager for the Harris-Walz campaign, and Research Fellow at the CDC’s Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR). She also served as the 11th Youth Observer to the UN from 2022-23. Himaja graduated with an MS in Environmental Epidemiology and a concentration in Infectious Disease Epidemiology from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in 2022, and her bachelor’s degrees in Physiology and Neurobiology, Molecular and Cell Biology, and Sociology from the University of Connecticut in 2020. -

I have a special interest in leptomeningeal disease, a devastating complication of lung and breast cancers. I collaborate with Stanford scientists to detect this disease earlier, and with our breast and lung oncologists to improve outcomes for patients.

Hetanshi Naik

BioHetanshi Naik is an Associate Professor in the Department of Genetics and the Research Director of the MS Program in Human Genetics and Genetic Counseling. She is a board certified genetic counselor and clinical researcher with clinical expertise in the inborn errors of heme biosynthesis, the Porphyrias, lysosomal storage disorders (LSDs), and pharmacogenomics, and research expertise in clinical trials, patient reported outcomes (PROs), qualitative methods, and study design.
Her research interests include developing and evaluating PROs for genetic disorders and genomics, in particular assessing PROs as outcomes for clinical trials, pharmacogenomics implementation, and genetic counseling education and processes, as well as utilizing digital health technologies to improve clinical care, genetic counseling, patient reporting, trial efficacy, and outcomes. -

During my time at Georgia Tech, I worked as an undergraduate researcher in Dr. Ajit Yoganathan's Cardiovascular Fluid Mechanics Lab. My project was focused on studying the contribution of foreign materials to thrombosis in transcatheter aortic valves using an in vitro flow loop. Michitaka Nakano

BioI am a MD/PhD postdoctoral fellow and medical oncologist with a long-standing interest in translational cancer research. My long-term goal is to be a lab-based physician-scientist and independent academic researcher, translating basic cancer research, and mentoring next-generation scientists. My thesis work in Japan focused on cancer stem cell equilibrium by uniquely applying organoid culture as a method to elucidate cancer stem cell dynamics, which was awarded in Japanese Cancer Association. Along with the development of the field represented by success in T cell checkpoint, my interest gradually shifted to immune oncology while I examined numerous numbers of cancer patients as a medical oncology fellow. My postdoctoral fellowship at Calvin Kuo Lab in Stanford (2019-present) focuses on tumor immune microenvironment. Kuo lab developed a unique 3D air-liquid interface (ALI) organoid system that cultures tumors while preserving their endogenous infiltrating immune cells (T,B ,NK, Myeloid cells). My postdoctoral work will prove the significance of organoids as a translational tool to discover tumor-immune interaction by novel checkpoint inhibitors for immune cells, which can be broadly applicable to basic cancer biology, precision medicine, therapeutics validation and biomarker discovery.

BioAndrew Napier, MD, FAAEM, is a board-certified emergency physician, Army veteran, and founder of two clinical tech companies. He built and FDA-cleared a single-use video laryngoscope with on-blade lens clearing and leads development of real-time procedural guidance for intubation and bronchoscopy. He also co-founded an ambient documentation platform now producing hundreds of thousands of structured charts across 100+ care sites. His work focuses on clinician adoption, safety, and measurable impact at the bedside—pairing device design with on-device AI, rigorous validation, and clear change management.
At Stanford (MCiM), his interests include human-in-the-loop guidance for high-risk procedures, ambient clinical assistants that lower cognitive load, and pragmatic trials that track speed, accuracy, and downstream outcomes. Previously Vice Chair/Assistant Medical Director at a 70k-visit ED, he led sepsis, documentation, and operations projects; he holds issued and pending patents, published on lens-clearing laryngoscopy (AJEM), and has led cross-functional teams through FDA compliance and commercial launch. BioDr. Ramsudha Narala is a board certified ophthalmologist who specializes in vitreoretinal surgery and ocular oncology. Dr. Narala grew up in Fresno, California and following high school, she attended the 8 year combined undergraduate-medical school program at Saint Louis University in Saint Louis, Missouri.
After medical school, she completed her ophthalmology residency at Kresge Eye Institute in Detroit, MI, where she received the best resident teacher award and highest resident ophthalmic knowledge assessment program exam score award. She then joined the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California for a 2 year vitreoretinal surgery fellowship where she was elected chief vitreoretinal surgery fellow. Following completion of vitreoretinal surgery fellowship, she pursued an advanced training fellowship in ocular oncology at Byers Eye Institute at Stanford University.
Dr. Narala has authored many peer-reviewed scientific publications and textbook chapters on vitreoretinal diseases and ocular oncology. She is also dedicated to education and teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
Dr. Narala's clinical practice is mainly based at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. -

BioDr. Nassar is board-certified in both General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care in the United States and Canada, underscoring his exceptional expertise in these fields. He holds a Master of Science in Health Science Education from McMaster University, Canada, further solidifying his strong academic foundation.
Currently, Dr. Nassar serves as the inaugural Director of the Emergency General Surgery Service and the Director of the Surgical Critical Care Fellowship Program at Stanford University. He is also the founder and director of the Surgery Resident Coaching Program. With over 12 years of clinical and academic experience at premier tertiary care referral centers across North America, Dr. Nassar brings unparalleled knowledge and leadership to his roles.
Dr. Nassar's clinical interests include trauma, acute care surgery, critical care, and a particular focus on abdominal wall reconstruction. As a dedicated clinician-educator, he is a certified simulation educator and serves as a course director for ATLS and ASSET programs. His research is centered on advancing surgical education, with an emphasis on fostering the development of non-technical skills in surgical training.
In addition to his educational initiatives, Dr. Nassar is actively engaged in developing innovative assessment tools for surgical trainees and addressing burnout among physicians and healthcare professionals.
