BioDr. Vaze is a board-certified, fellowship-trained cardiologist with Stanford Medicine Partners Cardiology Castro Valley, Stanford Health Care Emeryville, and Heart & Vascular Clinic Pleasanton. He holds board certifications in cardiovascular disease, adult echocardiography, cardiac CT, nuclear cardiology, and internal medicine.
Dr. Vaze prides himself on providing comprehensive, patient-focused care and acting as a partner in navigating the complexities of a heart condition diagnosis. He focuses on evidence-based medicine, the latest diagnostic tools and testing, and most of all, his patients’ needs. Dr. Vaze wants his patients to actively participate in their care, as he believes it leads to the best outcomes and to more personalized care.
Dr. Vaze has a strong interest in improving quality and business processes to deliver efficient, streamlined care. He has worked on interventions for increasing safety and satisfaction across multiple hospital systems, including leading local projects focused on optimizing coronary angiography patient workflows. Dr. Vaze has also participated in national projects including the Million Hearts® Cardiovascular Disease Risk Reduction Model to reduce cardiovascular disease risk.
Dr. Vaze’s clinical research interests include atrial fibrillation and predicting cardiac mortality. Dr. Vaze has published his work in many peer-reviewed journals, including PLOS One, Clinical Cardiology, Journal of the American College of Cardiology, and Current Cardiology Reports. He has also coauthored many abstracts for the American Heart Association Scientific Sessions.
Dr. Vaze is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, the American Society of Echocardiography, and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology. -
Shivam Vedak

BioShivam Vedak, MD, MBA is a second-year Clinical Informatics Fellow and Internal Medicine Physician at Stanford Medicine. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology-Neuroscience from the Schreyer Honors College at The Pennsylvania State University and a dual MD/MBA from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). He completed his training in the UIC Internal Medicine Residency program, where he was recognized as the institution’s American College of Physicians Outstanding Resident of the Year in 2022.
Clinically, Dr. Vedak practices as a hospitalist at Stanford Health Care. His research and operational work centers on integrating generative artificial intelligence into clinical workflows, collaborating with the Stanford Emerging Applications Lab (SEAL) and the Stanford Health Care Data Science Team (DSatSHC). He is passionate about advancing medical education on artificial intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies, ensuring that physicians have the knowledge and skills to safely and effectively implement these innovations in their clinical practice. Dr. Vedak has been an invited speaker and panelist at several academic medical centers and conferences nationwide, where he has delivered interactive workshops and engaging didactic sessions on the fundamentals of large language models (LLMs) and how to effectively interact with them via prompting for both clinical and non-clinical applications.
