Current Role at StanfordI am the Product Manager for Stanford Profiles and Project Manager of the Stanford Profiles University-Wide Project. I work directly with the Stanford Profiles development team in Stanford Medicine | Technology & Digital Solutions Application Development. On this project, I also work with a university-wide project team, the Stanford Profiles (formerly CAP) Working Group, made up of members from many of the Stanford schools and organizations. In June of 2014, we started the CAP Drupal Module Working Group. The purpose of this group is to review and improve the integration process with CAP by expanding and enhancing the CAP Drupal Module (CAPx) with an open-source contribution approach (an initiative started and led by SWS in collaboration with the CAP Drupal Module user community).

Juan Antonio Delgado San Martin

BioI specialise in computational approaches to uncover insights from large mobile health datasets for cardiovascular risk assessment. I am also interested in survival models, PKPD modelling, language models (including data mining in EHR and genAI), and web app development for other researchers to use. I have extensive experience in industry implementing ML approaches and designing ML-centric industry-scale production software architectures, including MLOps & CICD.
In the academic domain, I share my time between Imperial College London and Stanford research projects. In the industrial domain, I help industrial startups like ValueBase and Aktana —and charities such as Cancer Research UK (CRUK)—extract greater value from advanced data analyses.
The rest of my time is dedicated to teaching companies how to design effective data ecosystems within Google Cloud on behalf of Google. -
Megan DeMott, MD

BioMegan DeMott, MD, earned dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Biochemistry and Philosophy from Claremont McKenna College, graduating summa cum laude. She received her medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and completed residency training in Emergency Medicine at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, where she served as Chief Resident. She went on to complete a fellowship in Medical Toxicology at the University of California, San Diego.
For the past 15 years, Dr. DeMott has practiced at an indigent care hospital in Brawley, California, where she is dedicated to serving underserved populations. In addition to her clinical work, she mentors Stanford physician assistant students, fostering the next generation of healthcare providers. Her professional interests include medical toxicology, emergency care, and health equity in vulnerable communities. -

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsOur basic research program focuses on understanding the roles of virus-host interactions in viral infection and disease pathogenesis. This program is combined with translational efforts to apply this knowledge for the development of broad-spectrum host-centered antiviral approaches to combat emerging viral infections, including dengue, encephalitic alphaviruses, coronaviruses, and filoviruses, and means to predict disease progression.

Chairs, Faculty, Researchers, Staff and Facilities to optimize layouts for appx. 2M square feet of space as adjustments are needed to offices, labs, and teaching spaces across the campuses of Stanford University. I work with consultants, designers, project managers, furniture vendors, movers and others to determine the optimal solutions. After 30+ years of being in architectural firms working with educational institutions, I'm thrilled to be inside that setting and contributing to the success of the School of Medicine.

Michael S. Fernandopulle

Resident in PathologyBioMichael Fernandopulle, M.D., Ph.D., is a resident in clinical pathology at Stanford University. During his graduate work at the NIH with Dr. Michael Ward and at Cambridge with Dr. Peter St. George-Hyslop, he uncovered novel pathways for mRNA localization and local protein synthesis in neurons. He is interested in combining biochemistry, metabolism, and high-throughput cell and subcellular profiling technologies to uncover fundamental principles of aging and neurodegeneration, and to apply these discoveries toward novel diagnostics and therapeutics.
Michael holds an Sc.B. in Chemistry from Brown University, an M.D. from Northwestern University, and a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Cambridge, Darwin College. -

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsThe Fordyce Lab is focused on developing new instrumentation and assays for making quantitative, systems-scale biophysical measurements of molecular interactions. Current research in the lab is focused on three main platforms: (1) arrays of valved reaction chambers for high-throughput protein expression and characterization, (2) spectrally encoded beads for multiplexed bioassays, and (3) sortable droplets and microwells for single-cell assays.

He graduated with distinction in medical education innovation and was inducted into the AOA Medical Honor Society at UC Irvine School of Medicine. A prior television producer who worked with CNN, ABC, History, Discovery, HGTV, Food Network, Travel Channel, NBC, Vice, he is committed to innovate groundbreaking ways of incorporating new technology into medical education. He also is a co-executive director and co-Founder of Sewing For Lives, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and led a group of 2,500 worldwide volunteers in making over 250,000 masks for healthcare workers, police and fire departments, teachers, and students throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. At UC Irvine, he created over 50 physical exam instructional videos viewed by medical students and residents. In addition, he is a member of The Empathy Project at NYU with Jon LaPook, MD, Chief Medical Correspondent for CBS news.

On Partial Leave from 04/01/2026 To 12/10/2026Current Research and Scholarly InterestsWe are a functional genomics laboratory interested in elucidating mechanisms of DNA repair pathway choice and genome instability. We use genome-wide repair fate maps of targeted DNA double strand breaks (DSBs) to develop pathway-specific models and combinatorial therapies. Our expertise overlaps many different fields including: genome editing, ionizing radiation, cancer therapeutics, V(D)J and IgH class switch recombination, repair during transcription and replication, and meiosis.

Lawrence Fung MD PhD

Current Research and Scholarly InterestsDr. Lawrence Fung is a physician-scientist specializing in autism and neurodiversity. Dr. Fung is an associate professor of Psychiatry at Stanford University. He is the director of the Stanford Neurodiversity Project (SNP), director of the Neurodiversity Clinic, and PI at the Fung Lab. Dr. Fung’s research traverses from multi-modal neuroimaging studies to a new conceptualization of neurodiversity and its application to clinical, educational, and employment settings. His lab has two main arms of research: (1) neurobiology of autism and (2) neurodiversity.
The neurobiology arm of his lab focuses on advancing the understanding of the thalamocortical circuits and their socio-communicative and cognitive functions in people on the spectrum by using novel neuroimaging and bioanalytical technologies. The findings of his neurobiology research efforts were published in top journals in our field, such as Molecular Psychiatry, Translational Psychiatry, and Psychoneuroendocrinology.
Using a community-based participatory research approach, Dr. Fung’s team devises and implements novel interventions to improve the lives of neurodiverse individuals by maximizing their potential and productivity. He has developed and assessed several psychoeducational interventions, including the Developing Inclusive and Vocational Educational Resources for Success and Employment (DIVERSE) curriculum.
Dr. Fung is also the founding director of the SNP, a special initiative of the Department of Psychiatry at Stanford. Since 2017, the SNP has organized various events, including the Stanford Neurodiversity Summit, which brings thousands of people together yearly to share visions, innovations, and inspirations about maximizing the potential of neurodiversity. Each summer, about 100 high-school students join us at the SNP’s Research, Education, and Advocacy Camp for High Schoolers (SNP-REACH), to learn how to develop neurodiversity advocacy projects. Dr. Fung also teaches a neurodiversity design thinking course at Stanford. Clinically, Dr. Fung has applied the SBMN to his clinical work and is teaching a CME course focusing on delivering neurodiversity-affirmative care to neurodivergent patients.
