Michelle Chiu, MD
Clinical Assistant Professor, Medicine
BioMichelle Chiu graduated medical school from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and completed internal medicine residency at Stanford University. She is currently a clinical assistant professor in the Division of Hospital Medicine at Stanford Hospital. Outside her clinical work, Dr. Chiu is involved in medical education at the graduate and post-graduate level. She teaches IM Bedside Clinical Reasoning and Physical Diagnosis Rounds, an elective for second-year PA and medical students that focuses on the bridging the gap between classroom physiology and bedside pathology. Additionally, she is involved in APP post-graduate education with current projects in hospital medicine onboarding, CME, and scholarship.

Wah Chiu
Wallenberg-Bienenstock Professor and Professor of Bioengineering and, by courtesy, of Microbiology and Immunology
Current Research and Scholarly InterestsMy research includes methodology improvements in single particle cryo-EM for atomic resolution structure determination of molecules and molecular machines, as well as in cryo-ET of cells and organelles towards subnanometer resolutions. We collaborate with many researchers around the country and outside the USA on understanding biological processes such as protein folding, virus assembly and disassembly, pathogen-host interactions, signal transduction, and transport across cytosol and membranes.

Eric Y Cho, MD
Clinical Assistant Professor, Urology
BioDr. Eric Y. Cho is a board-certified, fellowship-trained urologist with Stanford Health Care and an clinical assistant professor in the Department of Urology at Stanford University School of Medicine.
Dr. Cho provides general and reconstructive urology care, including surgical and nonsurgical treatments for a wide range of conditions affecting the urinary and male reproductive systems. He treats a wide spectrum of general urology conditions, including benign prostatic hyperplasia and kidney stones, and provides diagnosis and treatment counseling for urologic cancers. In addition, he has expertise in genitourinary reconstruction related to urinary tract trauma and injury, urethral and ureteral strictures, ureteropelvic junction obstruction, and cancer survivorship challenges such as urinary incontinence or erectile dysfunction. He has expertise using minimally invasive and robotic techniques to restore function, structure, and appearance.
He excels at helping patients understand and navigate their care, which may involve multiple specialists. He also prioritizes shared decision-making with each patient to deliver care that supports their treatment goals and quality of life.
Dr. Cho’s research focuses on developing and evaluating innovative surgical techniques in reconstructive urology. He has studied robotic approaches to ureteral reconstruction and prostatectomy, as well as patient outcomes after surgery. He continues to pursue research aiming to understand how disease develops and how to continually improve patient outcomes with and without surgery.
Dr. Cho has published his findings in leading peer-reviewed journals and has shared research findings at regional and national urologic meetings. He also participates in international medical missions to serve communities that lack access to reconstructive urologic surgery and care.
Dr. Cho is a member of the American Urologic Association (AUA), Society of Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons (GURS), and Western Section of the AUA (WSAUA).
