Maria Lee

BioI am a clinical psychologist from Sweden, currently doing my postdoctoral fellowship at the Department of Psychiatry. With over 10 years of clinical experience in Sweden, I specialize in working with patients with severe mental illness, primarily psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia. The majority of my clinical work has been done in outpatient clinics for individuals with recent onset of psychosis and I have extensive experience doing cognitive and diagnostic assessments, as well as delivering cognitive behavioral therapy in this population.
My current research focuses specifically on the menopause transition and severe mental illness. The aim of my project is to assess how this period affects risk of developing severe mental illness, as well as how menopause affects the clinical course for those already diagnosed with severe mental illness. -
Maxwell Lee

BioMaxwell Y. Lee is a resident in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery with clinical interests in head and neck oncologic and reconstructive surgery. He is also a postdoctoral scholar in the same department, whose work focuses on translational immuno-oncology and outcomes research in head and neck cancers. His research integrates single-cell and spatial transcriptomics to define tumor–immune niches and mechanisms of resistance to PD-1/PD-L1 blockade, with the goal of developing predictive biomarkers of treatment response.

BioNicolas Lee is currently a Senior Lecturer in Aeronautics and Astronautics at Stanford University and specializes in teaching hands-on design skills. Previously, Nicolas was a research engineer studying hypervelocity impact plasma, meteor radar observations, and mission concepts using deployable structures and CubeSat technologies. Nicolas was a Ph.D. student at Stanford focused on meteoroid impact effects on spacecraft, and a W. M. Sangjoon Lee
Postdoctoral Scholar, Aeronautics and Astronautics
BioSangjoon "Joon" Lee is a postdoctoral scholar at the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He was a CTR Fellowship recipient at the Center for Turbulence Research (CTR) from October 2024 to December 2025. He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with a Designated Emphasis in Computational and Data Science and Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. His expertise is grounded in fluid mechanics and computational science, covering areas such as computational fluid dynamics (CFD), heat transfer analyses, vortex/turbulence physics and instabilities, numerical algorithms, and data-driven hydro-/aerodynamic design optimization.

Visiting Scholar, Orthopaedic SurgeryBioI am an orthopedic surgeon and assistant professor at Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU), serving in the Department of Orthopaedics at Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital, Taiwan. I completed my Ph.D. at KMU in 2023, focusing on orthopedic research and innovation.
My clinical expertise and research interests encompass orthopedic trauma, hand surgery, osteoporosis, and fracture repair. My work has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the 2018 Merit Paper Award from the Taiwanese Osteoporosis Association and the 2019 AOTAP Scientific Congress Merit Paper Award.
As part of a dynamic research team, I have contributed to significant medical device innovations. Our developments include a novel targeting device for screw positioning and an advanced surgical tool for carpal tunnel release. These innovations have secured patents across multiple jurisdictions, including the United States, Taiwan, China, European nations, and Singapore. Our achievements have been honored with the Taiwan National Innovation Award for four consecutive years (2019, 2020, 2022, and 2024).
Currently, I am a visiting scholar in Dr. Yang's laboratory at Stanford University, where I am expanding my expertise in innovation, research, and development while fostering international collaborations.
